T.I. Suffers from Elect-ile Dysfunction

T.I. is finally admitting he has a problem -- telling unregistered voters in D.C., "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." He should have thought about that before pleading guilty to felony weapons charges and officially forfeiting his right to vote.

Still, the Hip Hop Caucus selected the rapper as their official spokesperson and justified their decision by saying, "T.I. can't vote in this election and to come and encourage others to vote, especially young folks from disenfranchised communities, while he still is in the system, is an act of courage and great leadership. Felon disenfranchisement is a major issue that particularly impacts communities of color."

17. T.I. giving advice to the young ... Wonderful. The black community will continue to excel and prosper. I suppose next Michael (Pr*ck) Vick will be doing PSAs for my local shelter ... or DMX talkin' 'bout stayin' in school ... HILARIOUS!

18. I'm pretty sure they're are some educated african american men and women in the united states who would make a better spokes person. At least someone is putting themselves out there knowing that the truth about his past will be revealed and saying, "so what?" It's the message that is important, not the messager. Frankly, I don't even know who this is. And as for John, post #1, you have obviously not had the delight to visit meth-lab infested white parts of town. Trust me, just because your white doesn't mean your right. And as for the "race card", those who don't see racism alive and well and living EVERYWHERE in small increments in the USA, you are blind or so proud of your country that you choose not to see where change is needed. God bless the USA, but mostly God bless us all!

20. WOW.....

I MUST BE ETERNALLY NAIVE. AM I REALLY READING THESE RACIST ASS STATEMENTS? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING FOR THIS COUNTRY? YEAH, HE COMMITTED A CRIME....AND? LOOKS TO ME LIKE HE IS STILL TRYING TO CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY. WHAT ARE YOU GOONS DOING OTHER THAT POSTING RACIST COMMENTS ON TMZ?

AND ALL YOU A$$HOLES WHO SAY THAT CRIME IS A "BLACK" THING, GO GET AN EFFING CLUE. I KNOW JUST AS MANY WHITE FOLKS WHO DO WAY WORSE STUFF THAN POSSESING A GUN.

AND DONT BOTHER SLINGING RACISTS COMMENTS MY WAY, FOR I AM NEITHER BLACK, NOR WHITE.

22. This is so ridiculous. The persons who organized this couldn't find anyone better to convince unregistered voters to register. The black community continues to favor uneducated rappers over people who've done the right thing in life and educated themselves. This (a rapper/ gun dealer) is who they are choosing to speak to the masses? How sad.

23. ok this really gets on my nerves to see so many people upset that they would say 'communities of color'. The reason why that statement was made was because 'communities of color' have the highest percentage of felons. It has nothing to do with the fact that he committed a crime but the fact that he is a black man who did something really dumb and now is not able to vote. Is it wrong for him to encourage people of his own race and others who just might end up in the same predicament as he is, not to go down that path and continue to keep their voting rights. I am in no way condoning what he did, because it was a crime and it is wrong. I just don't feel as if anyone has the right to criticize him on encourage others to vote. It isn't like he is saying vote for this guy, but all he is saying is have a voice and vote. Be serious guys and stop making something out of nothing.

26. What TI has to say on a subject that he cannot legally participate in is irrelevant. As a life-long conservative, I am proud to say that my vote will go to Mr. Obama. When I look/listen to him, I do not see color; I see education, brilliance, determination, and a good man with a fine family. He has earned my vote.

27. All he has to do is serve his time and re- register. All you felons just re-register… They will give you your voting rights BACK

28. You guys are wrong- felons can still vote as long as they aren't on parole- probationers can still vote- unless you've been sentenced to two or more years at a STATE penitentery you still ARE eligible to vote- i ought to know i just got out last august and recieved my voting registration card and location by february. SO LAY OFF T.I HE'S JUST TRYING TO BE A BETTER ROLE MODEL TO THE YOUTH THAN HE HAS BEEN-

THANKS.

29. Good for T. I. He is well spoken and intelligent and brave enough to try to reach people and encourage them to vote even though he is being critisized for it. He has made mistakes and has learned from them and it trying to use his influence in a positive way.
