Bratton Takes Heat for "Outing" LiLo
LAPD's top dog, Chief William Bratton, was grilled for saying that the paps don't care about Lindsay because she's "gone gay." He says that's not how he meant it -- cue the tape!

I guess Bratton misses all the media coverage he received on the East Coast. His ego has been crushed by celebrities that have dwarfed him. What a rediculous comment for a Chief of Police.

35. The police chief shouldn't be speculating on people's sexual orientation. The guys back at the station may sit around chatting like this, but it's inappropriate. It brings disrespect to the justice system because it shows a lack of respect to citizens.
This guy needs to be replaced. Not only should he not be talking like this- he shouldn't allow his officers to. They need to be more professional than this.

36. rlugbill you need to take a pill or something. "Speculating" means you've engaged in thought or discussion about her sexual preferences. That's not what the chief was doing, he was running down a list of recent stars who have cleaned up their act and who no longer have the media attention they once had when acting inappropriately. The fact that one of those stars was described as being involved in a gay relationship was simply a way of stating that she was no longer a desirable target for the paps.
Some of you people read WAY too much into this stuff. How about commending the chief on not playing some stupid little game and at least acknowledging what the police departments priorities are. I'm sure stars are upset over the paps who swarm them, but please John Mayer has been a media hoe from day one. He's constantly engaging the paps and doing/saying outrageous things to ensure he's at the top of TMZ's header. I think the paps do get out of line, especially with the Britney stuff of last year, but if they're doing something illegal, stars have the same options in regards to calling the police and reporting it, as we all do.
Note also, that of the hundreds of stars in Hollywood/Los Angeles, there are really very very few that TMZ actually pursue. If you look at the common denominator, than the police chief is absolutely correct, it is predominantly stars who go out of their way to attract the attention in the first place.

38. Chief Bratton did not out anyone. This has been in the news for months. HIs officers have better things to do than protect celebrities from photographers. There is REAL Crime in LA!!!
