Dupri Shooting -- All Over VIP Access

TMZ has uncovered the real reason behind the shooting at Jermaine Dupri's party last night, and it's all about the velvet rope.

According to law enforcement sources, things got violent around Atlanta's Club Dream when patrons heard that members of the private security team were double charging people to get into the VIP area -- where stars like Usher, Diddy and Nelly were partying.

Cops say pushing and shoving broke out, and as the masses were being thrown outside, that's when a shot rang out. A security guard was treated for a shot in the arm, but has already been released from the hospital.

We're told the ongoing investigation does not involve any of the celebrities ... nor their entourages. So far no arrests have been made.

16. Dang. I was born, raised and still am White. Been to many clubs and some were I was just about the only non-black there and must have missed the shooting part of the night. Dang, I miss everything.

20. this is some crap club in Atlanta in the middle of Little Mexico. That is actually what the legal street sign at the corner says. It's in the parking lot of Plaza Fiesta. Why, I have no idea. And why any "celebrity" (i use term loosely) would have a party there of all places in Atlanta is beyond me.

21. It's not about the color of the skin, it's about the class of the person(s) committing the crime. People of all nationality commit stupid acts of violence. Hating a group of people just because they look or act differently from you, puts you in the same class as the person committing the acts of violence. The only difference is the shooter was trying to hurt total strangers, however when you speak and teach racial hate you are hurting people you know - your children - the next generation.

25. Now to all the ignorant people out there who wants to rant about nig this and niga that and how we should have never brought them to this country, I have one question: How do you sound? You people are probably the ones who get so offended when someone calls you a racist saying that you have black friends but in the privacy of your own home turn around and spew that garbage. I know that I am a black woman and I'm probably more educated than most of you ignorant people will ever be in your pathetic lifetimes. And lets be real if you wanna talk what about you white people and all the crazt things you do like killing your mother because she would not let you go to a party? Trust me ilived in a white neighrborhood went to a white high school and I"ve seen crazier things there with "you people" than with the blacks in Brooklyn. 26. Holy crap.....i knew the rest of that article before I finished reading the first line. This has nothing to do with race....it is just the stupid mentality of these rap artist entourages / hanger-ons. They have this ridiculously false sense of entitlement that they can do whatever they want...whenever....and are going to throw down if you don't let them get their way. And they do.
