Dupri Shooting -- All Over VIP Access

TMZ has uncovered the real reason behind the shooting at Jermaine Dupri's party last night, and it's all about the velvet rope.

According to law enforcement sources, things got violent around Atlanta's Club Dream when patrons heard that members of the private security team were double charging people to get into the VIP area -- where stars like Usher, Diddy and Nelly were partying.

Cops say pushing and shoving broke out, and as the masses were being thrown outside, that's when a shot rang out. A security guard was treated for a shot in the arm, but has already been released from the hospital.

We're told the ongoing investigation does not involve any of the celebrities ... nor their entourages. So far no arrests have been made.

64. I was hurt at first by the abundent racism in the posts. Then I realized, you white folks may be right, incidence of club shootings may be higher in clubs primarily catering to African Americans. Haven't seen the stats so I can't be sure. But don't assume that this represents all or even the majority of Black Americans or even the Black Hip Hop community. Do your homework and know that hip hop is more than and better than "bling", guns and shaking asses!

Then realized something else: this is somewhat foreign to you all because all of your White "crazies" are busy commiting serial killings, cannibalism, and mass murdering folks (e.g. Hitler, GW Bush, etc.). So I'll give you this: a shooting in a "Black" club is not the most shocking thing. But I'll take my Black club over any of your crazy white men any day! They have done far, far worse over the centuries!

Darfur ??? Life means little to the black man...Slavery could NEVER have happened without the implicit cooperation of the black tribal chiefs in Africa...Slavery still exists in Arab countries and in parts of Africa...yes there are white guys that go over the edge occasionally. First, who said I was a man? Second, before you speak of intelligence, you really should know some things about the person with whom you are debating. I outscored every single White student in the private, mostly white secondary school that I attended. Third, this is not about blaming "whitey" for Black problems. If you knew me, you would know that I am all about Black self-empowerment. However, there are absolutely forces at play that make this a difficult task to accomplish. These forces come from both our history and our present oppression. Note the immediate jump to racist comments and use of the N word on this message board. And this is from a very isolated sample.

Do I excuse fools shooting in a club because they can't have their way? Hell no! Will I accept people lumping all Black people into that same category when the majority of us are law abiding, responsible people? Hell no! Ignorance and violence needs to be stomped out in all racial and ethnic groups. Insulting Black Americans does not move us towards this goal.

75. Look at the astounding beacon of success that Africa is. Africans are obviously intellectually superior to the rest of the world. They invented written language, the wheel, the automobile, the computer, the airplane, modern medicine, and the very internet that you are using right now. They score higher on intelligence tests than anybody else and their rich cultures are to be admired, if not worshiped. If only I had a chance to move to Africa and absorb some of their insight. They are the master race.
