There's nothing funny about this -- Bernie Mac has been placed in a Chicago hospital with a case of Pneumonia. The comedian is said to be responding well to treatment and should be released from the hospital in the next few days.
Mac suffers from sarcoidosis, a chronic disease that inflames organs -- so far it appears the Pneumonia is not related to that illness.

ice with a little umbrella ?
prayers are the BERNIE MAC, BLESSINGS, GET WELL!!!!!!!! :)
It dont think from what is said in this article that his pneumonia is not related to sarcoidoses as this disease may cause damage to the lung which would make it more susceptible to pneumonia. also sarcoidoses also requires immunosuprresive drugs such as steroids which could also make him more susceptible to an infection fo the lung. Get Well Soon.
Sarcoidosis can occur in almost any part of your body, although it usually affects some organs more than others. It usually starts in one of two places:
Lungs and Lymph nodes
Because of this his diesease can cause even more of a complication with fighting the Pneumonia. Inaddtion because of the fact he more then likely has scar tissue in his lung from his chronic condition it makes him at higher risk for contracting things like pneumonia.
He´s funny and a nice guy, too. Let's hope he gets better real soon.
That sucks! He's a funny, funny guy. And you never see him in the news for misbehaving or showing out. Get well soon, Bernie. And keep making us laugh...we need you!
A cup of hot chicken noodle soup, red jello and a shot (or three) of Scotch cures just about anything that ails ya.
Rest and get well, B-Mac!
OMG, the hospital has to be the worst place to be when you have pneumonia! I hope someone is looking out for him, making the nurses wash their hands etc. Hope he gets better soon. His show became one of my favorites and helped me keep sane when my new baby was keeping me up all night-every night.
Why did you capitalize pnemonia in the story? Title, yes; story, no.
