Cops Say Paul Pierce Not Drunk Enough

Now we're learning cops believed Boston Celtic Paul Pierce was under the influence of alcohol after stopping him because they smelled alcohol on his breath.Paul Pierce: Click to view!
As we first reported, Pierce was pulled over at 3:30 this morning after he was "driving erratically." Cops now tell us he had made an illegal lane change without signaling in his white BMW when officers in a paddy wagon spotted him.

We're told they smelled "alcohol coming from the car." We're also told the breathalyzer showed Pierce had alcohol in his system but was below .08, which means you're legally drunk in Vegas.

The pic shows Pierce at the scene.

As for why he wasn't cited for an illegal lane change or erratic driving, cops say it was a minor offense so they let him skate.

16. Now we know he was under the INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL when he made that claim that he was the best b-ball player in the NBA.

17. and btw he was lucid enough to park his car and hail a cab. seems responsible to me. rather than drive a little buzzed, park it.

18. Paul probably forgot he was in Las Vegas and not Boston anymore. Here a right turn from the extreme left lane on an expressway or being the 4th or 5th car through the intersection after the light has changed is normal. And turn signals are for wusses. It makes life more exciting wich is a good thing when you think how long our winters are.

19. Bryan, Another jealous idiot of a Lakers fan. Did you read the story? It said he wasn't drunk. And if you're worried about Pierce being drunk then what does that say about your Lakers who couldn't win drunk or sober. Face it. Celtics win. Lakers lose. Now deal with it and move on, jackass

20. Sorry, that should have been "which is a good thing". I know our winters aren't actually longer than anyone else's but it can seem like it when you add "mud season" on the end. Spring often doesn't get here until the end of May.

24. I was sitting 10 feet away from the car when it was pulled over. The police were 2 little go getters who had nothing better to do than to harrass this man. He was very respectful the whole time and very cooperative. He didn't appear under the influence of anything at any time. It took the police 40 minutes to perform various tests while trying to find a reason to arrest him. They finally called 3 motorcycle Metro Police to perform the same exact tests. No way was he arrogant or rude at any time. I heard the police say that he failed to use a turn signal and that's why they stopped him. I saw many rude and obnoxious people with open beer containers stumbling back and forth in front of the police and they did nothing to them. They should've just given him a warning about using a turn signal and checked out the loud drunks who were blatenly breaking the law in front of them. The police just seemed more interested in looking into his car with their flashlights. Seems like they were a little jealous of his nice car and irritated that they couldn't make him lose his temper.

25. I agree, there is no need to Player-Hate. I remember when Paul Pierce was in Fresno, he was HUGE.

27. Bryan, Yes, you made that claim. Las Vegas police say he wasn't. You still have no idea whether Pierce had been drinking before he made that claim. He talked trash about other athletes. What athlete doesn't? You're going to defend Bryant after what he said about O'Neill when they were teammates?
BTW Do you ever drink or are you a teetotaler? If you have ever taken even one drink too many you have no leg to stand on in this argument.
