He survived cancer, rehab and an undisclosed medical condition that derailed his tour, but Eddie Van Halen is looking hot for teacher.

Sporting a cool new 'do, the 53-year-old vacationed in Maui on Tuesday looking tan and fit. Who needs Jenny Craig?

76. Hey he looks pretty healhy to me....that real skinny look wasn't doing it for him before. I will say that it does almost look like someone has photoshopped a little to the photo.....not sure if he would have gained that much since the last current tour photo...but if he is working out , he would be close to looking like this. Being off the road also would mean that he is eating better and a little more so ...this could very well be a true photo.

77. I saw VH in Feb, 2nd row. And EVH was ripped. He looks rather fat/bloated now. Anyway, the show was great. Looking forward to new music.
