Unless she just got vitiligo -- L' Oreal has some serious splaining to do about its bleached out Beyonce ad!
Beyonce
The ad features a severely Photoshopped Beyonce -- almost unrecognizable. So the question ...

47. I hate how blacks pretend to be all proud to be an African American then wear wigs and weaves to hide their nappy heads and try to dilute their heritage to look more white what a bunch of fakes. When a blonde wig on a black girl light skinned on not like tyra and beyonce DOESN'T LOOK NATURAL. Who do these people think they are fooling we know what's really under their nappy heads. Proud to be black, YEAH RIGHT! Beyonce probably wanted to be lighted in the ad.

48. whose to say she wasn't photoshopped in the first picture. she looks bronzier than usual. but she looks beautiful in both. it's not a slap in the face to blacks. a lot of my black friends wish they were "brighter" most white people tan. is that an insult to whites? NO!!!

49. Oh please... Beyonce has been trying to look white for years... the woman wears wigs to cover her afro and lightens up her skin with makeup.

If anyone should be called out here, it should be Beyonce herself. She is the one who appears ashamed to be black.

51. WELL AS A MIXED BLACK WOMAN. I THINK THAT BEYONCE LOOKS SOMEONE OTHER THAN HER SELF.
BUT LETS FACE THE FACTS, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES US BEAUTIFUL. BUT I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE AND SAY THAT ITS DOES APPEAR THAT SHE DOES LOOK AWFULY BRIGHT. SHE IS A HIGH YELLOW GIRL BUT DAMN SHE LOOKS GHOSTLY THE PIC DID NOT DO ANY JUSTICE FOR THE MS. BEAUTIFUL KNOWLES. BUT I WOULD HOPE THAT SHE WOULD GIVE SOME INPUT AS TO WHY SHE DOESNT LOOK LIKE HERSELF, BUT MORE OF A REMINDER OF A WHITE WOMAN. NOT THAT I HATE WHITE PEOPLE. I LOVE ALL PEOPLE. THE ONLY PEOPLE I DONT LIKE ARE LIARS AND STUPID PEOPLE. TMZ I DONT THINK PLAYS THE RACE CARD I JUST THINK WE AS AMERICANS ALWAYS PLAY THE RACE CARD.THEY JUST DO THEIR JOB AND REPORT THE STOIRES. YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ OR RESPOND.

52. I agree with "PLEASE". Beyone is alot lighter than she was when she first came on the scene. I noticed this a few years ago. Maybe she's the one who has the real issues..

53. #6 is right--all celeb photos are manipulated. blemishes, weight, colour, etc are all removed to make people look as white and barbie doll as possible.

54. 34. Ignorance at it's best!!! Bravo!!! What's the matter, your girl leave you for an NBA player? Can you blame her considering the choice? What's the big deal? If Beyonce wants to look white, sell-out for a profit, or just be on the magazine cover for more publicity, that's her thing. If a white girl wants to tan, get her lips plumped, get fake boobs and a fake ass, so what! Who really cares? I mean clearly these women have issues being themselves, black or white, and it's more important to them what other people think or see them as. Money can buy these things, but it can't give them what they really want. If white girls want NBA players, so what, they'll have to share them with every other piece of white trash out there. Sure they will get paid, but is it worth the price or the STD? So Broeheem, "they'll take full advantage of the race issue (if it's to THEIR advantage), ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING? I'd say so. The street runs both ways Tom!

55. Who cares..

56. Dudes, black people have all hair types...straight, too..Why? Because of DNA, which has plenty of white in it. You know this

57. If you're gonna make an issue about the skin color, then an even bigger issue is that Beyonce wears a WEAVE just like Tyra. Why pretend that these black celebrities have long flowing caucasian looking hair when it ain't so.
It's so ingrained that you have to look more caucasian to be attractive, it's a shame the media and the cosmetic companies and celebrities themselves continue to perpetuate that myth/sterotype.

To the person who pointed that white people get tanned and have lip injections, don't be ignorant or minimize the issue. I guarantee that they're not doing it to look more black, they do it to look more attractive (if it suits them). Even people of color look heathtier after some time in the sun, it's the affects of vitamin C/D.

BROEHEEM.....don't be so ignorant.
Just because we straighten our hair doesn't mean we're not proud of our heritage. The "Roots" you mentioned doesn't have to be nappy to prove ethnicity; remember "black people" come in all different colors and hair textures. It's that kind of effed up thinking that made Michael Jackson cut up his face and bleach his skin....

Don't generalize a group of people, often the ones you think are the proudest (with their afros and dashikis) are the one most filled with self loathing. You can't judge all books by the covers..

58. This is racist and a slap to blacks because I think the only they used beyonce is because of her star power. everyone loves beyonce but they were aiming more toward whites

59. Beyonce saw those photos before they went to print, and if she was satisfied with her look than hats off to her. I am a Black women, and Beyonce in no way represents me, so I don't feel nothing about this ad. I feel worse when people think that she is sporting her real hair. Let's face it, this girl is so pagent fake that we probably wouldn't B. if we ran into her in a market.

Posted at 12:04AM on Aug 7th 2008 by NOT OF FAN OF B.

60. The sad part is that TMZ, not black people asked whether or not this ad was offensive, but black people are being blamed for it. Black people come in all shades and their hair also comes in differnt colors and textures. The racism that came out in this post is disgusting. The comments on black people having nappy hair and ugly charred black skin and wanting secretly to be black shows how uncomfortable the posters must be with themselves...why else would you feel the need to attack a beautiful race of people who are not even angry with this stupid ad. Do we say white women want to be black when they tan or dye their hair darker colors? Or are they trying to be more white when they dye their hair blonde? Heck no! It's a double standard.TMZ , you must like pissing people off, becasue that is all you manage to do when YOU not BLACKS pull the race card. Black people are beautiful and proud of their heritiage. A few exceptions to the rule who may choose to change their hair or skin color do not constitute dis-respecting or stereotyping the entire race. Start commenting on the topic of the post not your personal vendettas or horribly negative and incorrect opinons or feelings towards black people.
