16. L'Oreal is only doing what Beyonce really wants anyway. I mean everytime you see Beyonce she gets lighter and lighter- it's only during the Summer that she permits herself to slightly darken(with the help of a dermatologist so she won't get "too dark"). Beyonce herself is a fake- ashamed of who she is as a Woman of Color. I think she is a bad example for young ethnic girls everywhere who are now damaging themselves in order to reach what is being marketed as the ideal "Black" woman. I disagree that L'Oreal doesn't market to Ethnic groups because being a woman of color myself I use L'Oreal all the time.
Bottom Line: Beyonce is a SELLOUT.If you're going to sell out then you're slapping our ancestors in the face, they struggled and put up with the Stereotypes so we don't have to, whatever happened to "Black is Beautiful" ? Instead we're going back to "If you're Black, Step Back". I think L'Oreal was wrong for photoshopping her picture but I don't think Beyonce should be getting any sympathy because she brought it on herself for trying to imitate a Caucasian woman and projecting a negative image to mostly Black, and Hispanic (sometimes Asian as well) youth.

17. Shame on L'Oreal.for doing this. I see no excuse for this. If it was uneven skin tone then they just as easily could have made her a tone darker. but they did not do that. they made her white.

18. White do the African Americans want to look like the people they say surpress them. If you are black you should have curly hair and darker skin - quit trying to be white -

19. maybe beyonce just slathered herself in bronzer to go to awards shows and in the loreal ad she just had regular foundation on matching her skintone

20. i honestly don't remember ever seeing beyonce's skin so dark as in the first photo. either way she's beautiful and it's just silly for anyone to be offended, racially.

21. Bet you wont see a Japanese person or most other cultures do that ..I would not allow myself to do it either. Why would a black person want to adjust or change thier truly beautiful image for any one? For money? Yo....is that a sell out or what. You rich black actors, singers and athletes should wake up and create our own magazines, cosmetics and so forth and stop imitating other cultures. Look in the mirror ...we do not have to imitate anyone. We are a beautiful people and THE WORLD KNOWS THIS!!!! AFROS NEED TO MAKE A COMEBACK!!!!BE REAL

22. while it does look like they lightened her skin a bit it could also be that under the bright lights she looks lighter as a black woman i know that when there is great lighting your complexion does appear to look lighter so it may or may not be photoshopped and besides black people dont buy loreal anyway so clearly they werent trying to appeal to us

23. beyonce, beyonce, beyonce-she is not anything different from any other confused tramp.

24. Get a grip...I am what u call a light skinned afr american and I get darker in the summer and lighter in the winter...it's normal and everyone knows it. the only people I believe who tend to have an issue with this article are the same people who give light skinned afr americans crap for being light skinned and that's dark skinned african americans...let's stop tip toeing around this issue...it's not white people who cause these issues, it's dark skinned black people...and this is the truth!!!

25. Well the way I see it is if Beyonce has always wore a wig and or weaves and has always tried coming across like something she is not then......Loreal has EVERY right to do what they want with her! She has sold her self out in to MANY occasions. Whats worst is that she should really think about the black woman who look up to her! Besides......she probably made her self look that light with all that powder!

26. Her skin may have been altered, but probably only to match the hair color. If her skin was as dark as in the first photo, it'd look really horrible with the blonde wig. Its not always about race, yet I'm still willing to bet Jesse Jackson will come out of nowhere and ask for a L'Oreal boycott. ( I don't call him reverend.. no man of God should ever be as arrogant and idiotic as Jesse Jackson).

27. Your hair lightens in the summer, not your skin tone, your skin gets darker. Even in the winter, when my skin lightens, I don't look like a white woman. Beyonce is trying to have more money than Jay-Z, and I don't knock her for that. It's just pitiful that she has to go so far as to having her pictures shopped. I thought White America had accepted her. Too bad.

28. Why would women of color use these products anyway? the pigment is not meant for our skin. it is bs. and no, I can't stand greasy fashion fair either. Iman's product line kicks butt! that is thee only thing I will use for make up, once a year when I wear it. none of these product lines offer anything to anyone who has color in their skin. none of them. I can make this statement because I'm a cosmetologist.

29. Monica,

You may find the human body being bared offensive, which is a personal opinion, however she is in a country that is very open with the human body. As most American's tend to be prudish, the openness of others is viewed as indecent; however this is simply one cultures views compared to another and as long as proper education on human anatomy and decency is given to the children it is my opinion this adds to the child's knowledge of culutral differences.

30. How about we stop trying to make EVERY LITTLE THING a race issue. Can't this airbrush thing just be Human error. Honesty the media just makes things worse between the races. You put ideas in people’s head to get a rise out of them. How about using your power for good instead of evil. I mean isn’t there enough hatred out there do you really feel it necessary to add to it.
