301. According to black people everything in the world is a slap in the face and i'm sick of hearing it. They can make fun of white people in every sitcom and every movie they make and thats supposed to be alright and thats bs if you ask me. If white people made a sitcom making fun of black people it would get taking of the air for being racist or if white people had a WET channel like black people got a BET channel that would be racist or even a united caucasian college fund that would be racist to and it don't make sense to me they need to stop blaiming white people for there problems we got just as many problems as the next man and we ain't blaiming black people. One more thing black people were not the only people that were slaves as a matter of fact i would rather pick cotton than build somebodies pyramid or fight lions and gladiators to entertain romans.

302. Well, I have to first of all disagree with Rico... being an african-american with light skin myself, I feel that it is other fair skinned african americans who cause the trouble. In my family I have seen how I have been treated better than my darker sister, usually by relatives who were also light. Either way, I respect Beyonce's business savvy HOWEVER... I would not be the least bit surprised if she ok'd the extreme photo shop. I don't know another african american woman who would accept a title of "Beautiful Latina" if you're not in fact latina! I think she has a great team behind her although she's far from the smartest cookie (please remember her deer in headlights look during almost every interview and the pre rehearsed answers that rarely answer the question being asked) so maybe she wasn't quite sure what the title meant! Bottom line, we need to do better, stop being wh*res for money... she has enough, she never has to sell herself for a buck.. or even a couple million bucks.

303. Well, this is really not the first time a dark-skinned celebrity has been lightened. Shari Belafonte years ago appeared very light skin on print, when she's really several shades darker in person. Is this an insult to African-Americans? I'm not sure. Increasingly in print media, no one has kinky hair and black skin anymore. Every subject is turning lighter and his/her hair, straighter and longer. But is this true of the real world? Look around you.

304. If anything, Beyonce looks darker in the photo on the left than she usually does. Her skin color in dark gold. Oprah always brings this up when Beyonce appears on her show. And Beyonce did have her hair colored blonde for quite a while. I don't think the picture looks as though she's being "whitened," it looks overlit , as in washed out, and unattractive. Bad photography. But then what would some people do if they weren't screaming racism. It's ridiculous and it's becoming Americas favorite pasttime. Get over it. We're all the same.

305. Just like angie said, I dont remember her being that dark in anything, and she does'nt look white to me..she looks like a bright skinned black woman.

306. My granddaughter is light and has blonde hair which lightens in the summer and she also tans and get browner in the summer, but during the winter she lightens and she has hazel eyes also just like Beyonce. Also I take pictues and depending on the light or the flash on the camera, even dark skin people can photo as light skin, So America need to leave these people along because we all are mixed and there is no true black or white person. Soon we will all be light brown Americans the way the races are inter marrying and that will be good. I have another granddaughter who is part black and part mexican, and she is also light brown. And one granddaughter who is light skin and her mother and father are totally black. And our family has some Cherekee Indian mix. So you can not look at a person and say what color their skin should be because even some whie people have dark skinned kids and pretend that the kids have a tan.

307. omg so what who cares she could be tanned in that first pictur
bcuz she mentioned on the tyra show she like to tan
and how come when a white person gets darker (tanning salon) its ok but
when a black person gets lighter its a whole different story?
who cares these days it shouldnt matter. you dont have to look black
to be black.I see ppl who look like a different race all the time
iv seen lot of ppl that look white but hav blk in them and look asian but there not
my point is lets get over race because it confusing no one is ever what they look like it get hard to tell

308. Well...I am light skinned African American as well and my skin is lighter in the winter and darker in the summer but in the L'Oreal photo she's like 5 shades lighter than she is in the left photo, so there was definitely some photoshopping...But I dont think she is normally as dark as she is in the other photo either. I can't really call it, but it's not a big deal to me because that's just how it is. The media doesn't portay black women in a positive manner. The closer to you are to white, the more superior you are....that's what they want you to believe.

309. L'Oreal/Beyonce Whitewash

I feel as though it is a slap in the face. Blacks should be proud of their skin color no matter what shade it is. If you're light skinned or dark skinned, you're black either way and you should embrace you're differences. In many pictures, Beyonce has an amazing bronze glow to her. Her glow looks very beautiful and healthy, but the L'Oreal picture in this article makes her look sickly. The L'Oreal picture reminds me of Mariah Carey and I personally don't like at all. I have nothing against Mariah Carey, but I don't like how Beyonce's skin tone is almost close to Mariah's, due to the fact that Beyonce has a naturally dark skin tone. I don't think Beyonce had an intention of changing her picture; yet she is a huge star and a spokes model for L'Oreal, so I believe that she does have the power to change the ad or have a say in it. Beyonce should have spoken out about how her features were changed, even if she didn't have a personal complaint about it. She should have spoken out because young girls and women should be proud of their appearance. Also, L'Oreal should be to blame for this too. L'Oreal should never have changed her skin color or hair color. Lastly, all photos for magazines, ads, etc are Photoshopped to some degree. Now, I guess it's time to decide what is too much Photoshopping and what is appropriate for celebrities and the ads and photos the do.

Heidi Klum Nude in Italy

As for Heidi Klum being nude in Italy, I don't see any problem with it. Yes, she's nude in front of her children, but that's how Europe's culture is. Heidi Klum is from Germany and in Germany nudity is a normal occurrence. I just returned from Germany about 2 weeks ago and nudity is not something special or abnormal. So, for Heidi to be naked in front of her children isn't surprising or out of the blue for her or her culture. I don't think a parent being nude in front of a child is wrong or sends a negative message to children. If fact, showing your children, at a young age, that you shouldn't be ashamed of your body is a positive thing. In America, we are trained to be ashamed of our bodies and being nude or liking the aspect of being nude is extremely frowned upon. I think if America would embrace Europe's perspective of the human body many Americans wouldn't have low self-esteem or have problems with their bodies. We should embrace how we look when we're nude; we are all born without clothes on our bodies, so we should embrace how we are naturally. I'm not saying that we all need to run around naked, but I am saying that we should support how are bodies look with AND without clothes.

310. Beyonce has never had African-American features.....so it's no big deal about her lighter skin. She has never played up her heritage.

311. Shame onTMZ! for implying racism niether loreal nor beonce thinking of race. all women of color usually have uneven skin tones. i spea from experiance. im a light skinned african american m/u artist. we often have choose dfoundation that either lighter or darker than some area of face. caucasian women have less troubke. the photoshop guy was simply evening out the complexion as his job prescribes! even Walmart family photos get touched up! its not perfectionism it is professionalism! SHAME ON TMZ for instigatng racial sensitivity!

312. Let me correct the poster VVend. Beyounce lost weight for a movie in order to look and mimick the image of Dinah Ross. If you read the background on the movie auditions you would have read where Beyounce said she DOES NOT recconmend ANYONE to do the diet she put herself on in order to mimick the size she had to get down to in order to best portrat the image of what Dinah ross look like during the days to which the character in the movie and the broadway stage play is based on. After the movie was over Beyounce didn' put weight back on just because anything less than thick is unacceptable to black people ...oh my God where in the heck did you get that information from. People like you should be banned from spreading these lies about people you have never met or talked to in person to ask why the weight loss or why the weight gain and yet you come on these boards with your own crazy speculations and bold your words as if you speak with authority. Beyounce talked extensively on MANY MANY shows about the diet she went on in order to loose 20 pounds quickly she stated what she ate what her daily exercise routine was and she stated exactly why she chose to do it. Her reasons was NO DIFFERENT than what MANY MANY actors and actress do in order to portray a character. some actors and actresses have lost weight or gained weight to fit a character, some actresses have shaved bald and gained muscle to fit a character of a role (Demi Moore for example in GI JANE) Oprah Winfrey had to gain some extra weight when she got her first acting role in color purple because the role required an EVEN heavier woman than the heavy woman Oprah was at the time she was when she auditioned for tghe role. Janet Jackson gained 40 pounds to fit a character for a movie she auditioned for in order to better portray the character which rwas a heavy woman then she had to go on a strict diet and exercise regimien to loose over 50 pounds to best portray the image of Dorthy Dandridge which she lost the adutiton to Halle Berry. who they felt best fit the image appearance wise of the character in the movie. Actresses and actors who are SERIOUS about there role will study the role and make what ever changes neccassary that is withibn their limits and not life threatening or dangerous in order to best portray that role and that is ALL Beyounce did when choosing to loose tghe weight. Once the shooting of the movie was over the character in the movie she delivered so whe went off the diet because there was no need to continue that weight. there was no decision to gain weight back because anything less than thick is unacceptable to black people. she gain the weight back because she went off the diet and that type of diet once you go off it weight comes back faster and sometimes more than what you had before you began the diet. I ahve known Beyounce since she was a little girl and once she started entering her teen years she has ALWAYS been a thick girl and her body frame will always be thick in the hips and thighs and butt with tiny waist and she has taken lots of slack from people because of that and she is happy with her size....she doesn't need butt pads to look bigger. I saw her choice to loose weight in order to mimick a Dinah Ross look alike no different than Jennifer Hudson who had to actually gain weight for her role in the same movie in order to mimick the image of the character Jennifer Holiday made famous on Broadway. Jennier Hudson said it was actually just as hard for her to gain the weight and keep the weight on her during the year of the shooting than it was when she tried to loose weight at one time in her life. Women who change hair color wear weave or even use fade cream to even their skin tone or lighten their skin tone do it because they feel it enhances their appearnces and it simply makes them feel prettier. sometimes it has nothing to do with wanting to be another race or pass as another rac and celebrities who have the money to enhance their appearances to make them feel better about themselves will be the first to do it. Even Oprah is NOT the same shade of color she was when she was first discovered. take a look at Oprah winfrey during her earlier days of Chicago morning or her early days of the Oprah show or even during her days in color Purple. What Oprah looked liked then IS NOT what Oprah looks like now. The Oprah now is years of chemical peels skin lightening creams hair extentions (inher early years of becoming famous and wanting to now enhance her appearance and lots of maintenance on her hair nourishing it and straighting it, a change in makeup etc. and a life fulk of up and down yoyo weight loss and weight gain. But did Oprah make all those changes about herself because she felt she wants to more European or pass for something or be more acdceptable to a certain culture of people other than her own heritage of people? NO absolutely NOT.! all the changes Oprah has made in hewrself over the years is because it makes her feel better and beautiful and enhances her appearance ibn her eyes and that's her right to do it but it doesn't ake away fromt he fact she is PROUD to be a African American woman.......same as Beyounce is PROUD to be an african american woman and just as Oprah has been an excellent role model with her clean lifestyle and support of the black community by giving back Beyounce has also fill that role for young black girls and women. Instead of wasting your time tearing Beyounce down why don't you try to be an exampe of good human nature and post something positive readers can take away and actually use than can benefit them. Beyounce is doing that with her life maybe you should do the same. THINK ABOUT IT,

313. It's acceptable within the black culture to be prejudiced against people of your own race if you don't like their color.

Posted at 9:00PM on Aug 6th 2008 by Tarzan of Concrete Jungle

314. the only people who evver get angrey over a black person changing their hair r skin is ANOTHER BLACK PERSON and it's ALWAYS the darker skin black person. it all goes back to the slave days of the drks skin black slaves were considered less and made to work outside in the hot fields being beaten and wearing ragged clothing whereas the lighter skin black slaves were given jobs inside the big house where they were dressed in nicer clothing sometimes even becoming closer to the slave owners and getting a few perks the field slaves did not get. That riff was made between black slaves among themselves and have carried on through history even into the year 2008. You never see a white person get angrry at another white person who decides to tan or kink up their hair. I never hear another white person call another white person a sell out. ONLY THE BLACK RACE DOES THAT and it needs to stop. People should be able to color their hair or maintain their hair in what ever fashion they want and it not be ANY DARN PERSON'S BUSINESS. It's my body, my hair, my eyes what ever and what I want it to look like is my business and I"M STILL A BLACK WOMAN you don't like it then it's your problem ....GO GET THERAPY FOR YOUR PROBLEM AND LEARN TO STOP HATING AND FOCUSING SO MUCH ON OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES AND DESIRES.

Posted at 9:45PM on Aug 6th 2008 by Kay

315. It shouldn't bother anyone, Beyonce has made her feelings regarding colour known. She can be whatever ethnicity she chooses, she's already said she'd prefer to be Latin, she can be all of that without my support by not purchasing anything associated with the hoe!
