46. Who cares????

47. In response to yep i said it: what is the reasoning behind whites tanning?? All my friends who do always do it because they don't want to look pale and think it is ugly to look pale.
Also it is true the blacks do change color I do all the time especially during soccer season but trust me this isn't the same thing at all. First if all the picture to the left is already a lighten picture of Beyonce. I have seen her up close in person and shes not that light. It is a drastic difference and it wouldnt be the first time a company has photoshoped someone to make them look different whether its darker or lighter. Either way its is a disgrace and discriminatory against skin tones.

Just like make up companies always have 20 different shades of tan beige whatever... but for blacks only have a max of two and even then the darkest color isnt that dark at all. And then you have brands like the queen collection which fool blacks into thinking that its make up for us. Has anyone ever seen that collection its the exact same as the other makeup the pigments all look the same to me.

Lastly its ironic because that is not Beyonce's hair at all so why is she doing Loreal commercials when she clearly wears wigs.

48. In looking at various pictures of her online, it seems that she is usually fairly light skinned. The darker one here is the one that seems to be not the norm.

49. Rachel says:

"Your comment just proves how little of a grasp you have on the issue. The fact that she knew about it IS what makes it a slap in the face to blacks. I'm very sorry that we live in country where race matters, but we do. You can be as mad as you want, but most of you have no clue as to the underlying implications with something like this. I will make it simple. Editing someone's photo to make them look less like a member of their own race and more like a member of another is OFFENSIVE. "The closer you are to white the more appealing you are." That's the message. Those are the facts."

I agree 100%. Now tell it to all the successful black males who marry white females.

50. Why is this insulting to anybody? I'm white and if someone darkened my skin for a picture, I wouldn't be insulted. Why does this have to be a race thing?

51. White people change their color all the time. They lay out in the sun to darken artificially. Is change of skin tone only appropriate for whites? Is tanning a slap in the face for whites?

52. I don't think the picture looks that bad and I don't think it's a slap in the face. She needs to stop wearing all that blonde (wanna be white) weave.

53. This is a blatant slap in the face to people of Akebulan decent! The media keeps trying to force the European standards of beauty down our throats and try to make us believe that dark skin, tightly coiled hair, thick lips and so on is ugly. Let's see if Beyonce protests or if she goes with the flow just to get $$$.

54. It is a slap not only to black women but to indians as well. Women of these two races constantly have to deal to with a culture that constantly promotes lighter complexion over darker ones. The picture for me is reminder not to believe every pretty picture of celebrities and I hope it encourages any woman who sees it not to feel bad about her skin condition...keep using products that help to keep your skin free from blemishes etc...but learn to love the skin you are in!

55. It's the money people money makes you do strange things money can make lil black girls grow up looking like white women can anybody say mariah carey is she white or black beyonce can be white whenever she wants she got money like that. She is your tipical white women

56. What is all this about, just figure, the government keeps shoving RACE in our face now the the news media. Wow, can anyone get it, no matter the pigment, we are all one people. One God, one creator, one people. It does not matter who we are, we all will face one God, One Judge, and either or torment, or heaven. It that simple....nothing hard to understand, its not a car race, foot race, BUT PEOPLE!

57. There are other things more important than discussing this senseless topic.

Posted at 3:38PM on Aug 6th 2008 by Magy

58. What people don't understand is that the difference between African Americans and white people is that African Americans can look extremely light that they are mistaken to be white or they can be extremely dark. White people have different complexions too but you'll never mistaken them to be anything else other than white unless the one that go tanning every other day. If u look at pictures of Beyonce when she was younger she was lightskinned. There are alot of pictures where she isn't the sme complexion. I dont think they made her look lighter, I think they got her on the days where this is truly her skin complexion....maybe with a lil more make up. How come no one says nothing about Kim Kardashian. She gets too shades darker on her face when she puts her make up on. Beyonce' doesn't need that much. And It it doesnt matter if she wears wigs or tracks, this woman is well respected and LO'real knows that if she's representing them, their product will sell. Thats the bottom line. And also, just because u wear weave doesn't mean u don't use hair products...

What people need to be askin is if its a slap in the face for white people when some of them (not all of them) are busy trying to get lip injections and butt injections and tanning every day to be get the African American features.

59. L'Oreal is obviously advertising hair color. For people to think Beyonce has died her hair she couldn't very well go wth her usual color, which is dark brown to black. Unfortunately that blondish hair color she's advertising isn't going to look right with dark skin. Even on overly tanned white people, blond hair just doesn't look right. It's all about selling a product and, IMHO, has nothing to do with race. Beyonce is beautiful no matter what her skin tone!
