Your comment just proves how little of a grasp you have on the issue. The fact that she knew about it IS what makes it a slap in the face to blacks. I'm very sorry that we live in country where race matters, but we do. You can be as mad as you want, but most of you have no clue as to the underlying implications with something like this. I will make it simple. Editing someone's photo to make them look less like a member of their own race and more like a member of another is OFFENSIVE. "The closer you are to white the more appealing you are." That's the message. Those are the facts.

51. In response to yep i said it: what is the reasoning behind whites tanning?? All my friends who do always do it because they don't want to look pale and think it is ugly to look pale.
Also it is true the blacks do change color I do all the time especially during soccer season but trust me this isn't the same thing at all. First if all the picture to the left is already a lighten picture of Beyonce. I have seen her up close in person and shes not that light. It is a drastic difference and it wouldnt be the first time a company has photoshoped someone to make them look different whether its darker or lighter. Either way its is a disgrace and discriminatory against skin tones.

Just like make up companies always have 20 different shades of tan beige whatever... but for blacks only have a max of two and even then the darkest color isnt that dark at all. And then you have brands like the queen collection which fool blacks into thinking that its make up for us. Has anyone ever seen that collection its the exact same as the other makeup the pigments all look the same to me.

Lastly its ironic because that is not Beyonce's hair at all so why is she doing Loreal commercials when she clearly wears wigs.

52. This is not the first time that this has happened. Yes, Beyonce is a light skinned black woman, hell so am I. But her hair is blonde and her skin is lighter. Yes our skin does tan and maybe the Loreal ad was done in the winter time when her skin was lighter. However, this is not the first time that this has happened with Beyonce. If you look at her videos and look at her performances she is darker. Look at her skin complexion in her scalp that will tell you what her skin color is. In the pictures above the darker one you can see her scalp and that is the same complexion as her face. The second picture you cannot see her scalp. She probably has on a wig. But no one really knows what happened except Beyonce and the Loreal. But if they are making her lighter it's a shame. Why use her. Use someone and then alter their skin tone to fit your "standards". It's a shame. It's 2008 people. There are people burning their skin off just to get tans. Come on people!!!

55. White people change their color all the time. They lay out in the sun to darken artificially. Is change of skin tone only appropriate for whites? Is tanning a slap in the face for whites?

60. Whatever happened to, "Black is beautiful?" Blacks are so ashamed of their darker skin so I guess they never thought black is beautiful, or that "I'm black and I'm proud."
