Celebrity Justice
Joe: Casino Lures Whales With Booze and Sex!

"Girls Gone Wild" pimpresario Joe Francis has filed a doozy of a counterclaim to the Wynn's lawsuit alleging he owes $2 mil in gambling debts. He alleges, among other things, that as a practice the Wynn Hotel lures high rollers to gamble in the casino using "alcohol, prostitutes and illegal drugs." Isn't that what Vegas is all about ?!?

In his counterclaim, filed late yesterday in Clark County Superior Court, Francis says the Wynn casino and VIP host Larry Altschul made promises to Joe -- a high roller -- to "induce [him] to stay and gamble at the Wynn Casino." He claims that the Wynn used diversions and created phony markers to obtain money by "false pretenses." Francis also alleges the Wynn "intentionally miscalculates markers and forges the high rollers' signatures in order to change a high rollers' win to a loss."

Francis' powerhouse lawyer David Houston tells us this is only the beginning. He says they're going to seek out all of the Wynn's high rollers to see if they were treated as badly as he says Francis was.

The Wynn Casino tells us "The claims made in the counter suit by Joe Francis are not only false but scurrilous beyond imagination. Mr. Francis obviously felt secure making such defamatory statements under the protection of a judicial pleading. However, he has recently made other false and defamatory public statements. We not only intend to press the proper charges for collection of his gambling debts, but we will also pursue Mr. Francis for damages resulting from those incredibly damaging and libelous statements. Each and every statement made by Mr. Francis is an outrageous falsehood and he will be held accountable for those statements."

31. This is ludicrous.

You couldn't find a more diametrically opposed pair. I happen to like Steve Wynn and his work ethic., His employees have the same approach to everything; "what may I do to make your stay pleasent?" The Wynn is a total class act...

Bentley Continental Flying Spurs were the transport of choice for the Wynn the last time we traveled there. The experience was so cool I bought one when we got home (I believe they now have Phantoms...I bought one of those too (a 2007) based on the Wynn endorsement of the brand).

I am not a high roller, but my wife and I seem to end up in a 2200 sq/ft suite every time we go there. The concierge service is second to none.

I believe that Francis is way off base with his accusations. The Wynn doesn't need to offer anything elicit...they have something much better...Hospitality!

The GGW commercials (with the same tired island music over and over) demonstrate a lack of imagination and class. The type of content offered by GGW means nothing to me...I've seen real live naked girls...big deal! It take more than some drunk college party girls to entertain me. OTOH the Wynn's world class spa, food, shows and clubs are nothing short of spectacular.

C'mon, young men...pull your head out of your butt. Once you cross the velvet rope you'll think to yourself, "I can't believe how much time I've wasted on this shallow crap"...then you can have some real fun...Wynn style!

Steve shouldn't have to waste his time on this bozo

32. prostitutes at theWynn to lure whales? Now I see why he had the 2 outside arrested. They were cutting in on his girls. I am classed as a whale but never at Wynn. I frequent MGM and I have never been offered a prostitute. Liquor in the room and cigars, but never a woman. I have never had a marker messed with at any other casino .I can't believe this could happen. I am on Joe's side but His accussations may not hold water. However, there sure has been a lot in the news about the Wynn and markers not paid.HMMM, let me think about this a little longer.

33. Joe Francis is the poster child for capitalism. His tagline would be there is no bad way to make a dollar as long as it's legal. He believes his hype so thoroughly that he almost made me believe that what he is doing is ok and I am a woman with two daughters. He says they lured him (shouldn't he be immune to the wiles of women?), but he doesn't mention whether he actually ran up the debt. High rollers don't get platinum treatment as a right of rich people. They get it because the casinos know they are going to make the money back 10 fold. Joe is an educated man so he needs to cut out the dumb act. He knew what it was about.

34. Without evidence, a person can allege anything and expect very little in return, if that. And unless Joe Francis has indisputable evidence, eyewitnesses and such to the claims he has made against the Wynn Casino Organization, Joe stands to lose big time. Remember: You're innocent until proven guilty, and Joe has the burden of proof he must provide to expect proper jurisprudence under the established rules of law.

35. Steve Winn, who has established him as a casino owner/builder for years in Las Vegas and who has an impeccable business reputation, is sued by a knucklehead who developed a gimmick he probably dreamed up while in college ("Girls Gone Wild") and made money off of it, lots of money, then subsequently became a degenerate gambler and owes money, a man who is clearly on his way down on the financial ladder.

Steve Winn, builder of casinos not only in Las Vegas, in Nevada and around the world, is probably laughing right now at the law suit. Because there is no way someone in the Nevada gaming business would do any of the things this knucklehead alleges. This clown rode a wave to make money and he abused it, to see it come crashing down around him, pursued for his gambling markers and by the Federal Government. It appears he is trying to salvage something...any way he can. Basically, if you don't have the money to pay up, the best thing to do is counter-sue and get a battalion of lawyers involved.

It is so funny that his law suit is based upon erroneous impressions that people have about Las Vegas folklore, probably based on cheap Borders book store mystery novels. This knucklehead Joe is going to be going down WAY further now because of his scandalous accusations. They will come back to bite him.

Reminds me of a blues song by a famous blues/jazz pianist from New Orleans, Allain Toussaint, called "On Your Way Down." First refrain goes like this: "Sun rise...and sun set...since it began...it hasn't changed yet...people fly higher...begin to lose sight...they can't see very clearly...when you're in flight...it's high time that you found...same people you misuse on your way up...you might meet up with....on your way down."

So true.

36. as others have noted, joe is a great example of karma. maybe one day he'll wake up and realize that and put the barely legal sexploitation to rest.

37. I am so sick of people blaming their lack of control on "Sin City". I have lived out here for 20 years, from New York, and every city/state can have the same "lure" that people want to put on Vegas. There are strip clubs, drugs, and prostitution everywhere, not just here. There are also several other places to gamble- not just casinos, but horse betting/sports/etc., not just Vegas. If you are looking for trouble you can find it in any state. That being said, I have seen people come here and act/spend like fools, but try to pin it all on the casinos. If you choose to gamble, anywhere, it is up to you to have control. Know your limit, which many people don't. How else do fools like Joe Francis think the casinos thrive? The people that don't know their limit keep them going. Joe Francis is a spoiled "celebrity" that is used to getting things for free, and he still doesn't have an understanding of consequences. He's nothing better than a poor man's Hugh Hefner, minus the girlfriends.

38. Is he ready to mess with the big dogs now? I mean the government and poor innocent women are one thing, and the kind of people who own casinos are another.

39. It's AMAZING how much LEGAL AND CRIMINAL TROUBLE this ONE DUDE gets himself into! It's one thing after another! WTF!!!

40. #37, we are talking about VEGAS here... there are many places to stay... YES CASINOS COMPETE TO GET HIGH ROLLERS to gamble in their casinos! YOU DONT KNOW ANY BETTER CAUSE YOU ARE NOT ONE!!!!

Now, the fact that you think this is so absurd just proves what kind of sheltered buffoon you are. My god, do you only know the glamorous and positive side of vegas and hotel personnel? I guess so!

41. POST #33. So true. We will see how much tape they hand over. It works both ways. I am certain they have the audio and video of the execution of Joe's signature on the marker (check). That will tell it all.

POST #37. No one cares about your Flying Spur. Im sure your rich, at least in your own mind.

42. Ha, next headline: "Joe Francis Causes Crack Down of Las Vegas Casinos". That would be the day. The Wynn does have a drug dealing staff that is available on the floor to knowing customers who at a moment's notice can show up with a pound of highest grade cocaine or whatever or whomever else may please your appetites.

43. I totally believe Joe on a recent trip to Vegas with a high roller friend of mine a Hotel procured us 10 strippers (hookers) blow, X and of course a high roller Villa and all of it was comped. Of course my friend lost nearly a mil so to them it was merely the cost of doing business. To anyone who doesn't think this stuff goes down in vegas has never hung out with High rollers or played big enough to enjoy the perks.
