Dixie Chick Given the Cowboy Boot by Hubby

Looks like Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks will be attending the local honky-tonk alone from now on.

Charlie Robison's divorce from Emily was finalized yesterday, because the marriage had "become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities." But just because they don't get along doesn't mean the divorce will get nasty! The two will be joint managing conservators of their three children -- meaning they'll split duties right down the middle -- and they'll dice up their estates just the same.

Charlie filed in January, totally under the radar. The two were married in 1999.

31. Maybe he is patriotic and their anti American stands were putting too much stress on their marriage? Maybe he LOVES his country?

So, if I get this right, its only possible to love your country if you are a right wing "CON"? Nobody else can love this country, which was founded on the LIBERAL idea of FREEDOM OF OPINION? Lets see how patriotic all your "CONS" are when Obama gets elected and you are forced to support him and EVERYTHING he says and does!

33. Hey Natalie,
The Chicks kicked out the coop wire when ya'll first hit the scene and you did great on the charts. I thought you were in the music business for a while there. If the "paps" need comments from you, I personally prefer it be about your music career. If they insist on a statement about politics or W. in particular (they sure know which button to push and we already know how you feel about THAT subject) have you ever heard the phrase "No comment?" What's wrong with discussing your next musical project or how you feel about your fans, or even how you felt about the quality of your last show? Get out of the music business and run for the senate if that's your true passion! If you hate GB so much that it consumes you then that seems to be more important to you than the music business. Do you truly want the name "Dixie Chicks" to be synonymous with George W. Bush? Get back to entertaining for your fan's sakes. Don't you want to be lovable? Your point has been made. Don't drive it in the ground girls. Drive that steamroller of a band you worked so hard to make successful instead. I hate how I've ended up on the fence now. It's a long and well known fact how fickle the country music fans are and you're NOT new to this game.
Best of luck, and fuel (no pun intended) your lives with love for your country and your fans, PLEASE!

36. The Dixie Chicks are not TRAITORS--- the people who lied to get us into the current mess are-- 4000 Americans dead, the economy and housing and job markets in the toilet, oil prices at $130/barrel--\
As I was raised, American Values include supporting Free Speech and the Right to DISSENt when our leaders are on the wrong path. I am a proud and patriotic American who thinks the Chicks are GREAT.

37. Emily and Charlie plan to split responsibility down the middle. Good for them! If you can't stand one another, it's time to go your own way.

38. FYI-- Toby Keith has stated that he is a DEMOCRAT--- at least do your homework before you go off, people! Toby is great -- they had a dispute-- now get over it! The Chicks have moved on, maybe so should the rest of you!

40. Charlie Robison can put his boots under my bed any night. He is not only gorgeous, he is very talented. I love to hear him sing.

41. To all you naysayers who dissed the Dixie Chicks seven years ago, just look at them now. They're still making money, and they were right about Bush. America is heading in the wrong direction because of him. If you people had the same insight the Dixie Chicks had years ago, we wouldn't be in this mess.

42. I'm still amazed that after all of these years, people still get so worked up over the Dixie Chicks. They are Americans, just like you and me, they gave their opinion, as they are entitled to under the 1st Amendment, just like you and me.

43. Don't hate the Chicks just cause they have the guts to speak out. They are wonderful performers who have the right to speak out. And it is just hateful for people to get joy for her divorce. You should be ashamed.

44. To all those celebrating the dissolution of this marriage as a result of an honest assessment of our nation's misguided wild wild west foreign policy, you are a bunch of small minded hipocrits with nothing better to than rejoice in the fact that 3 young children will never live under the same roof with their mother AND father again.

To all those who feel that celebrities should keep their mouths shut about political matters. Are they not also citizens of this nations? Are they not also entitled to have an opinion about what is going on? And, I have often wondered why these types of comments are not made about celebrities who endorse your point of view. Anti-war celebrities are told to shut their mouths. Pro-war celebrities are not sent the same message. EVERYONE. EVERYONE. EVERYONE. Me. Natalie Maines. Wheresmyfreedom. We are all entitled to our opinions and we are all guaranteed by the Constitution the right to express those opinions. Those who think Natalie Maines and the Dixie Chicks are not entitled to express those opinions should stop and think about how they'd react if the British press had said the same thing about Thomas Jefferson and burned print copies of the Declaration of Independence or refused to all Benjamin Franklin or John Adams off the ships in England.

45. i don't believe it: you mean to tell me that Miss Emily isn't all sweetness and light, righteous and kind? wow. i'm in a state of country fried shock. who knew? not content with bangin on a banjo and yodeling listenable country pop tunes, she and her loudmouth partners decided to play Diplomat and take on the president of the united states in actions tantamount to treason. And now her husband--the man who loved her and knows her best--shoves her out the door. Look, pal, i coulda saved you all the trouble by telling you to avoid the bitch in the first place. Now sit back and wait for the Dixie Jerks to write a song about you...
