Morgan Freeman Driving to Splitsville

Just a few days after flipping his car on a rural Mississippi highway with a female friend in the car, Morgan Freeman is headed for divorce.

Freeman's lawyer and business partner tells a Memphis paper that Freeman and his wife of 24 years are divorcing. Several sources have indicated to TMZ that the marriage between the two has been over for some time.

Multiple calls to Freeman's rep were not returned.

Freeman and friend Demaris Meyer were injured when the car they were in ran off the road Sunday night.

17. Mr. Freeman's marriage may have been over "for some time" but apparently Mrs. Freeman and the, er, companion were close friends and the companion had been a frequent guest in the Freeman home as a friend of Mrs. Freeman. Tacky to take up with a friend of your wife, whether before or after the marriage is over. It shows little regard for your wife's feelings. If the marriage was effectively over 7 months ago, perhaps the, er, companion is the reason.

It would still be tacky if the companion were black and 70, by the way. Her being younger and white has nothing to do with it.

Why can't people get it through their heads that Freeman's accident was in the avid gardener's/companion's car, thus the gardening equipment i.e. shovels being in the trunk. Good grief. They found a bunch of recipes in her wrecked car, too. What will the next allegation be? That they were going to cook Mrs. Freeman?

18. PoRo...I have known and have seen many mixed couples/friends here in the Delta, but I have never seen or heard of any being hanged. I am 55 and a life-long resident of east Arkansas (about 25 minutes from Clarksdale, MS and about 75 miles from Memphis).

19. PoRo- seriously....it sounds like you've been watching too many movies. I am extremely proud to have grown up in the MS Delta. But go ahead and believe the stereotypes.....it's people like you that we don't want here! I met Mr. Freeman a few years ago and he was humble and extremely pleasant. Unfortunately- people fall out of love and divorces happen. Give him a break!

20. And for your information, O.J. was just an avid hunter and butcher. He had nothing to do with any murder in L.A. or with any armed robbery in Las Vegas.
