PETA: Beheaded Man Tastes Just Like Chicken

PETAOnly PETA can turn a human beheading -- and act of cannibalism -- into an animal rights issue.

A local paper in Manitoba, Canada -- where a Greyhound bus passenger was recently killed, beheaded and eaten -- has decided not to run an advertisement from PETA that equates that murder to the slaughter of animals.

PETA wrote on their blog, "While it isn't every day that a human is violently attacked and eaten by another human, it's worth noting that it is the norm for many people not to give any thought to the fact that restaurants are serving flesh that comes from innocents who were minding their own business before someone came after them with a knife."

Yeah, but steak tastes gooooood.

76. I am an animal lover, but I have never been a supporter of PETA, they are a very extreme group of folks, who in my opinion has stepped way over the line here. This was a HUMAN, there is a big difference. TMZ is also not to blame for reporting this, I acutally read about this on another site. But I do have to say that maybe with this action that PETA took, maybe more folks will open their eyes and realize that PETA is nothing more than a bunch of terrorists and will not support their causes, the only way to hit them where it hurts is through their donations.

78. I absolutely abhor PETA and their ridiculous tactics. While I am an animal lover, to equate what happened to that poor sole to the eating of say, chicken, is monsterous!

80. This isn't the first time PETA has turned human tragedy into an ad campaign. Years ago they ran an ad called "Holocaust On Your Plate," where they juxtaposed images of Holocaust victims and chickens in a slaughter house. I used to be a member, until I came to my senses. PETA doesn't want to help animals, if they did they would actually do something productive. Instead they cry, whine, and grasp for attention like children. NO ONE takes them seriously nor should they. This is just pathetic.

81. It is unfortunate that our community is suffering and an organization like this has to ruin its reputation by exploiting our pain. I believe in animal rights, however I no longer believe in PETA.

83. What a disgusting stunt - even for PETA, long known for radical, insensitive, bullying tactics. The fact that they garner attention more for their stunts than for their "message" of kindness to animals is shameful. They certainly wouldn't have made such a sick display of callousness if someone on that bus had slaughtered a chicken. At what point did human life become so much less valuable to these radical nuts than that of animals? I'm all for saving the seals, saving the whales, whatever - to each his own - but their tasteless and cruel advertisement is way out of line.

86. PETA is a pack of insane, aggressive, and clearly mentally unbalanced whack jobs. They don't even know what is and is not appropriate behavior. That's the definition of someone who's gone round the bend, by the way --- not being able to recognize when they're not behaving "normally" anymore.
So how are they different from anyone who is deliberately harming animals? Answer is NOT. They're all nuts.

Actually they are anti-pet-ownership. Not many people realize that. Their agenda for many years has been to eradicate ALL pet ownership - and yes that includes YOU, dog, cat, horse, bird, and other small pet owners. The proof is in a letter sent to the AKC by PETA, admitting that their goal was to eliminate all pet ownership. In PETA's opinion, it is cruel for humans to "own" any animal. Consider that the next time you send them money because you just wuuuuuv your widdle FuzzyWuggums and want to protect pets like yours from all the looney tunes in the world. Send them money and you are helping to SUPPORT the looney tune contingent!

87. Ok, I had not heard anything about the killer eating parts of the victim. What dif does it make? This boy died in the worst way. Why does TMZ have to put it on their website? All you hear now are sick jokes about, going somewhere? Don't take the bus! How sad is humanity. Give the family your prayers, not your jokes. PETA, get a life and think about what you're doing. 89. This is horrible, I am from Winnipeg and have been following the whole story. I didn't know Tim personally but it's a small world and I know people who knew him. I just feel so sorry for his poor family, all they want to do is grieve in peace and stupid organization after stupid organization are just trying to get their name out there on this family's expense. Not only are peta trying but there is a church group from the states that says they are going to come and set up a picket at his funeral. They are trying to say that this whole terrible incident happened because God is mad at Canada for allowing gay people to get married, ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME???? Leave the family alone already!!!!

90. As a HUMAN I am appalled at the angle PETA is giving to this horrendous tragedy. Secondarily, as a Canadian I am offended that TMZ is repeating erroneous details of this brutal slaying when simple fact checking of such a widely reported story would've informed them that this poor young man was beheaded after being stabbed repeatedly in the chest by a deranged fellow bus traveller. The shocking details of this attack are bad enough for the 22 year old victim's family to bear without embellishing the tale with lurid and wholly false details of cannabilism!
