Matt: After Birth Can Be Tasty Too!

If Barbara Walters were to ask Matt McConaughey what kind of tree he would be, his answer would be -- placenta.

McConaughey tells CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta that he plans to use the placenta from Levi's birth as fertilizer. He plans to plant the placenta in an orchard so it can "Bear some wonderful fruit."

Note to TMZ users -- stay away from the plums.

46. Cool, yes. But by donating the placenta you could save dozens of lives. My friend just beat Lymphoma thanks to a stem cell transplant using baby placenta and umbilical cords. At least just give it a thought. Helping a tree grow is one thing, but helping to save lives is another altogether!!!!

and lots of people take placenta's and do weird stuff with them. i saw the idea of using it for tree fertilization on the TLC show A Baby Story like... almost 10 years ago. nothing new....

...kinda like moving this story back to the front page.

48. Good for you Matthew! Just because a placenta tree is somewhat unconventional by our commercialistic standards does not make it wrong! Nothing like getting back to mother earth. Do what you wish and the hell with everyone else.

53. F-R-E-A-K. This man is not right in the ol' noggin. His brain cells are rapidly deteriorating, which is dangerous b/c he didn't have a whole lot to work with anyway. Methinks its a little too much herb in the diet, if you know what I mean.
