Pale Comparison

More on the L'Oréal front ... When Beyonce signed on with L'Oréal in 2001 her career was big -- but not huge. As she became more mainstream, her look in the ads appears to evolve -- into a whiter version of her former self.

16. #13 reefreshing-I am an old man and I don't understand all these words you are writing. It is either that text stuff they talk about or you just don't know how to spell. That is huge bottom lip this girl has.My opinion is that they tried to make her hair look lighter, not her skin. I typed this real slow for you people who don't read too fast.

17. Good grief, they are trying to promote warmer colors for Fall/Winter. It's called marketing, TMZ. Why would they spend all of the $ to hire a big name and then try to make the big name NOT look like themselves. Once again in your race to pounce on NOTHING and try to turn it into SOMETHING, you put your foot in it.

Way to go, TMZ, you bunch of a$$holes.

18. Shouldn't most entertainers of her stature have final approval on the look of the images used in ads? You might want to look into that. I doubt this is a shock to her.

19. Oh please! Nina, get over it already. You're just making a big deal out of nothing! Nobody cares.
First of all, the lighting is different in the picture. It's more yellowish than the rest. It's made to enhance the hair.
Has Beyoncé made a bit deal out of this? No. Has the press made a huge deal about this? No. Is Nina overreacting? Yes.

Racism died a long time ago. Too late to revive it. You look lame for trying.

21. For all of you who are upset , you act like this is some crime , like it doesnt happen all the time on every tv show and every magazine with models

what do you think of Oprahs fake skin then, on her show, I mean she is like Aunt Jemimah without makeup , but yet when she goes on her show, its almost like a micheal Jackson transfomation her skin is 1000 shades whiter, she is almost charcoal black in real life.........why are you not crying about that? or did you not notice?

22. You guys have branded TMZ as a funny celeb website, not a PAC. These news clips read like they're written by a political activist. Not funny. Not persuasive. Better luck next time TMZ!

23. The latest picture looks more like a blond Sofia Coppola than Beyonce. I'd like to know how Beyonce feels about these pictures. She has a lot of "looks" and they are all beautiful.

28. That hair color would look horrible on the darker skin from the previous ads...

29. What she needs to do is work on her diction. She has that Ebonics accent that makes it hard to understand what she is saying. Speak clearly if you are going to bee a spokespserson for a product!

30. First off, none of the pictures have Beyonce's real hair. Beyonce always wear wigs. Her real hair is nice but not nearly as long as the wigs she wears. She hasn't worn her natural hair since the first few years of Destiny's Child. That has been mentioned many times by celebrity stylists and hairdressers. Beyonce briefly commented on that long before she was super famous. She admits she damaged her own hair from constant hair changes and realized she would need to protect her own hair. This also isn't the first occasion that Beyonce has worn blond wigs. Watch some old videos/movies, flip through Us Weekly earlier this year. Beyonce is already a light-skinned black woman. As someone whose family is mixed, I have family members who could pass for white. But in the summer time they are out in the sun frequently and tan extremely quickly. We don't know when exactly the pictures were taken. They could have been taken a few months ago or during the winter time. How many times have we seen stuff come out several months after it was done? I don't think Loreal tried to whitewash Beyonce. The blond hair choice, I'm certain that was more Beyonce's choice than Loreal. Her and Tyra Banks are forever wearing blond wigs. They both need to stop it.
