Who is the Man -- Dead at 65

Musician Isaac Hayes -- who wrote the theme song for "Shaft" -- died this afternoon in a Memphis hospital.

According to WMC, a Shelby County sheriff's deputy responded to call from Hayes' wife after she found him on the floor near a treadmill inside their home.

Hayes was taken to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, and was pronounced dead at 2:08 PM. Cops are investigating, but do not believe foul play was a factor.

65. Brilliant musician, however what I'll remember him for is his hypocricy on South Park. He had no problem being paid for the episodes that poked fun of other religions, but quit in a hissy fit when his pseudo religion was the one being mocked.

Unfortunately joining up with those freaks is not good for one's career.

67. God rest your soul, Issac Hayes, I remember when Shaft hit the radio waves back in the 1970s. I was a kid and it was the most wonderful, unusual, bitchin, hip ass song on the radio. That thing holds up. He was a genius. A true American legend, there need be no more words than that. Terrible weekend, Bernie and Issac. Both bad mother.....hush yo' mouth. I can and did dig it.

What a heavy heart with sadness. Two giants and pioneers of the entertainment industry in just one day.
