Celebrity Justice
Hayden's Mom -- Forgive and Forget?

We just got video of Alan Panettiere walking with his dog after getting out of the klink, and it looks like he's walking with the wife he's accused of punching. It's not 100%, but it sure looks like her ... and she knows the security code to the building.

Alan told pappers the whole thing "was blown out of proportion." Law enforcement told us Lesley Panettiere called the cops and said her hubby struck her in the cheek with a closed fist around 3:00 AM this morning. Cops arrested him on suspicion of felony spousal abuse. And, we're told, both may have been drinking a lot prior to the incident.

Judging from the video, it seems as if she may be trying to drop the whole matter. Ultimately, authorities have the final word, but without a cooperative victim, these cases are hard to prosecute.

16. I am not a lawyer, but isn't that called BATTERY when someone causes someone else BODILY HARM????? What a stupid woman to take him back. He needs Anger Management classes. And the young son will have to see whatever happens in the future with this LOSER, ALAN. If I was Hayden, I would be so embarressed that my dad caused my mom to have injury...

17. Speaking from experience, many women call the cops because they are afraid for their safety in the moment. Then when morning hits, they've usually got a very humble man apologizing right and left, not to mention kids to feed and bills to pay. Or, as maybe in this case, they love their husband of xx years and have a pretty nice life that they don't want to lose. Whatever the reason, morning-after regret is so common, many jurisdictions prosecute with or without the woman's cooperation--for her and her children's own good.

18. They are mis-understood. Try having some respect, people. Or else, you can go shopping on Rodeo Drive on your way to Fresno.

20. Not really sure why people are making such a big deal about The Panettiere's..this stuff happens everyday to every "class" of people....it's unfortunate but that's reality and how people handle their own situation at home is really only their business....

21. It is really pissing me off that people think that our family is white trash just cuz some crap like this happens and it gets all over the internet. Its not like my parents decided to get in the news by doing something stupid cuz they were drunk. By next week this is all going to be history. I dont think this is how women are supposed to be treated so dont go thinking I am going to go around hitting girls now. Just let this go away ok? Everybodys family does something stupid, it just doesnt end up on tv and the internet. Be thankful for that! :(

23. What a horrible example she's setting for Hayden -- get hit and come back for more. So agree w/ posters who say don't call the cops if you are just going to stay w/ the guy. So often these women mistake emotional addiction (dopamine is released in your brain like cocaine when you are in love) with love -- one makes you ashamed and could kill you and the other makes you feel good about yourself and proud of your relationship. Women -- have a one hit, one shove policy -- it only gets worse and escalates from there. What does it matter if he was drunk? Like he's never going to get drunk again? Like there hasn't been thousands of women killed by drunk men who were so sorry afterward... What good does that excuse do for your children after their father kills their mother or to see her beaten and take more of it?

25. Dear Lord, I really hope that isn't actually you, Jansen! If it is, please honey, don't read these sorts of websites. The opinions expressed here are not representative of the general population, and most people would only want to wish the family the best. None of us know what happened, and it is really uncalled for to label Hayden or her relatives white trash. I'm sending my love to the Panettieres (from a long way away), and hope they get though this difficult time.

26. Hi MariaD, it is me. I sure hope you are right cuz all I been seeing is really mean things and comparisons to people we are nothing like. Thank you very much for your love. It really means a lot to me knowing there are people like you out there not thinking we are a rusty trailer park family stereotype of alcoholics and wifebeaters. :)

28. Oh, I should have checked back earlier! I hope everything is okay now Jansen, and I see one of your friends has posted here too, and I'm glad you have support. And, like I said earlier, don't believe most of what you see on these internet sites. Normal people don't write hateful, anonymous things about celebrities they don't know personally. These morons are not worth worrying about. I shouldn't be reading these sites either - it feeds into the problem...and I'm old enough to know better! Maybe we should both swear off them? Anyway, best wishes from NZ, and I hope your life is filled with happiness. Kia Kaha (stay strong).
