The streets and sidewalks of New York turned into a mad sea of screaming, crying, hysterical tweenage girls last night -- all for a little band called the Jonas Brothers.
Barricades were set up outside their hotel, and the scene was even crazier at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square. Here's what we're wondering ... why the Virgin thing, since kids are all about the download.

3. this is the most over-rated act in the business. Young girls keep them going. Just like all the young "stars". as long as mommy and daddy give them money to buy their stuff, kids will keep them going. I ahven't heard anything of theirs I like.At least I like Miley's song with Billy Ray.Not jealous of these guys because I am old,just stating a feeling.

4. One simple reason...to create a frenzy. I took my girls down to Times Square because of the "promises" of autographs at Virgin Records at midnight, the official release time for the new CD. Although there were some people down there to buy the CD, most were there because this "event" was publicized on their website, MySpace page and at the actual concert at MSG. Parents brought their kids down there, waited in line like they were asked, and for what???? A 5 minute photo-op where the Jonas Brothers strolled in, picked up their CD, and strolled out. Thanks, Jonas Brothers publicity team, for leaving alot of disappointed kids along with alot of angry parents in the streets of Times Square.

7. These kids are a bunch of douche bags... they suck, pretty damn UGLY, WTF? They are going to be like any other boy band, in 2-3 years they will all trien to go solo and will fail miserably,.. then a few years down the road they will be making sex tapes, house forcloser estate sales.. whatever else these losers can profit from because they WILL be BROKE!

8. In no way can you compare their music to the beatles, but they are causing quite a scene like those men did. You people have to realize that this is the generation, that your no longer a part of. Your much to old to realize that the Jonas Brothers are IT.

9. I think I heard them "sing" on a commerical for Target or Walmart - it was an old Beatles song. It was Horrible! How in the hell they got a record deal in way beyond me - but then again i am not a 10 year old girl with no pubes.

11. These boys sold their soul to the mouse. They sound like they sing with step throat. The mouse sure does know how to promote a group of nobodies. They present them as if they are veterans of the music biz and stir up a frenzy of manufactured fame. This is why real talented people who write their own music, can sing and play their instruments fluently find it hard to break into the business. The mouse ruins it for real talent by presenting their flavor of the month. In a year or two, these boys will be discarded, along with their disposable music, never to be heard from again.
Fast money, flashy dance moves and fresh looks are what music is all about these days.

13. You guys and gals are unbelievable. Have you researched these boys at all? I am a mother of 2 that love the Jonas Brothers and at first just listened to their music because my kids did. But I have read up on them and learned about them and the more I know - the more I am impressed. How many kids have enough talent and self discipline to write their own songs, sing and play their own music at the age that these boys started? They self taught themselves to play guitar and piano because they LOVE the music. They didn't go into this for the fame and fortune. They went into it because it was their passion. They were on Broadway before they crossed over to pop music. These kids were stars before anyone in the rest of the world knew their names. They keep to themselves - appear to be pretty humble - and have not offended anybody by making comments or videos against any body else. They are very grateful to their fans. Do you k now how many bands I stood in hotel lobbys waiting for to come down just to catch a glimpse of them just to find out they snuck out the back door? And yet the Jonas Brothers always stay in view of their fans - choosing to use front dorrs. And as for the promises of autographs last night - those promises were made by Virgin not Jonas Brothers. So take your beef up with them. I challenge anyone to find 3 teenage brothers that have even 1/2 the talent these boys possessed before they were even in high school. And as for being good looking - good Lord. You must have one foot in the grave if you can't see the sex appeal of these 3. Get a life!

14. The honesty and publicity that Nick Jonas is bringing about his diabetes is a godsend for all the children out there (including my own daughter) that struggle with this disease. They finally have a celebrity that is honest about the ups and downs of their own journey with diabetes and doesn't try to hide that he isn't "perfect" like so many others. The Jonas Brothers are a welcome change to the grunge that floats around music.

15. Say what you want about the Jo Bros, but I love the fact that they are a ROCK n ROLL band!!! They write, they play instruments...they are not one of the typical "boy bands" that have been saturating the music scene for the past ten years. Rock n Roll is dying, especially for the younger audience, and it's refreshing to see these guys wave the rock n roll flag high and proud! I say "Bring it, Jo Bros!" Show the kids what rock n roll is all about, because sadly, not many of them know. Not to mention the fact that ya just can't help digging some of their tunes...ROCK ON, BOYS!!!
