16. Dang it #14 SacT.I don't believe I mentioned smoking. Hair called dredlocks because people dread looking at it. Now for my closed mind. I raised a black girl from the time she was 8 til now. I am putting her through college. We talked about black peoples hair and they don't have to wash it as often as whites do. We have watched Whoopi on talk shows and the view together and she would make the comment about Whoopi being racist.and I like that elisabeth(sp) on the view. Last of all.I am white and so is my wife. I live in the south. I aint racist but Whoopi is. Put all this in your pipe and smoke it.

18. When are people going to accept the fact that Whoopie is her own person...she doesn't try to mold herself into some fake Hollywood ideal (never has!), and that confidence makes weak people afraid of her.

19. Man, you people must be bottom dwellers with minimally functioning brains! Whoopie is one of the finest women in America today. Very few people have her honesty, character, intelligence and/or good old common sense. As for her sense of style, leave her alone... ITS HERS... and I am certain her feelings are all of us to take it or leave it. She will go down in entertainment history as an icon. PS for the racists, I am white.

20. Anokie, I'm curious: What evidence do you have that Whoopi is a racist? I've absolutely NEVER heard of her being a racist. She has made comments about her not being someone's "sister from another mother" or that she is not African-American, but simply American (the reference is that she was born in America and not Africa which simply means she is American). Anyway, if this is what you are referring to, then you've got to be the first person I've heard of that is upset because she is racist against folks of color.

23. MysticalLady, from reading your post, you sound VERY upset, but please know that I find it a bit offensive that you would say I am a product of a defective gene. I've heard many people speculate on what Jesus, Moses, and Adam and Eve looked like, but NOBODY KNOWS!!!! I've heard one group say the folks in the Bible were every shade of ebony out there, and I've heard others say that those of ebony color are that way because of a sin in their life. AND, both groups use Scripture to back it up!

People cannot say that just because many lands of the Bible are in Africa that those people of the Bible were of ebony color or ivory color. Even within my own family, there are 5 different shades of skin, and I am even LOSING the color of MY skin!!!! There's my defective gene.

Anyway, IF we go by how the Israelites look TODAY, then Jesus had olive skin, tight curly hair, and looked nothing like what I see when I look at how various ethnic groups paint Jesus.

All in all, where's the scientific proof of your statement.

Otherwise, I say Whoopi: You go, girl! She is an amazing woman, and I think the dreds look awesome!
