"Idol" Fans Prefer No Talent Dad to Wannabe Son

16. Poor little David, all that talent and sweetness and his career is going nowhere until he gets out from under the shadow of that Mormon patriarch. His father cost him that contest. David Cook is a huge talent, no question, but David A. may well have stood a better chance of winning if his father had not interfered so much. As soon as I found out there were from Utah I wasn't surprised to find out they were Mormon. That religion insists on patriarchal households with large families, with the kids being raised with the "religion" which in turn adds more members. That's how that phony church has a such a big following. It's just another case of some megalomaniac insisting that God intended for him to have followers. Men like Jeff Archuleta fit right in to that mentality, ruling their households with an iron fist. David may have fans (myself included) and popularity but when he is old enough to break free from that control freak his career will soar. I wish him all the best, he has limitless potential.

20. Why anyone would remotely believe anything TMZ says is beyond me.
I have never heard either of the Archuleta's say anything remotely negative
about anyone else - David is the nicest, most unassuming, unpretentious
teenager out there. His Dad is a loving father who so far has done right for
his son. Jeff goes out to the people waiting - mostly for David A for hours - just to
apologize that they have not come out yet -- some people ask him for his autograph
and he is nice to oblige - though he himself has stated it is a bit odd.
TMZ should be ashamed of themselves -- there are plenty of people out there who deserve
to be picked on, but not these two. I think people must have enough of their own emotional
baggage that they have not dealt with - and it is just easier transfer that negativity onto
easy targets that won't send it back.

26. What's wrong with your people, try to stick to the truth even if its doesn’t make for good tabloid fodder. David Archuleta is not a wannabe, he is a legend in the making. He has an amazing voice and is on the path to becoming a star and you guys must think so too or you guys wouldn't be following him around. Jeff is a great Dad and the people that actually take the time to meet him and talk to him think so too.

Stop trashing them. You are unbelievable. The more you trash David and his family, the more people will love them, especially David A. Why don't you try to see David A. as the person he is? He is a nice young guy, who is talented, down to earth, very polite, well manner, smart. You can't take it do you, because you yourself isn't even near him. There is no need to say something bad about somebody when you don't really know the truth about it. 30. I have been to two concerts and talked to Jeff (very nice) but beyond me why fans would ask for his autograph--I only wanted David's. Seems like that the fans issue--not Jeff's. He wouldn't be signing if people didn't ask.
