46. That's funny, Mike. I love this country to death. Every liberal I work with is a typical hater. I'm just oft embarrassed by the actions of some of my compatriots. I appreciate that these guys were excited. It is indeed a hell of an achievement to win a medal at the Olympics. My POINT was that they could have exhibited greater tact. That's all. Indeed, there is much about American culture that drives me up the wall. Sloth, sloppiness, obnoxiousness, etc. Still, I wouldn't live anywhere else, man. I'm on your side. But yes, I do think a few other cultures have a lot going for them. Went to Italy last year and stayed with the locals. Absolutely night and day from here. Lovely people, well-dressed, classy for the most part. But would I want to live there, what with the corruption and other problems? No way. I think you're misunderstanding my comments a bit. But I can tell you that I do appreciate your eloquent retorts. Rare on these comment pages. ;-)

47. So what are they supposed to win medals and not show their support to their country??? that's retarded - go to another country and see how much more they wave their flags and show their loyalty. i say good for them - USA!! USA!! USA!!

50. I don’t understand something and maybe somebody that reads this can help.

During the Men's Team Final the Americans were hammered by the pummel horse. Kai Wen Tan “sits down” and scores the lowest score of any competitor on any apparatus with a 12.775. Raj Bhavsar has - what I would describe as – and awkward moment and scores a 13.75. Both of these scores are horribly low and the reason they lost the silver to Japan (losing by a mere 3.025 points). I think they were cheated out of a lot of points.

During the Men's Individual All-Around Final I watched as one competitor fell from the pummel horse TWICE, and another fell once. I also watched as a third competitor did the same as Raj and sat down during their routine. Yet the lowest score anyone received was 13.275, almost half-a-point MORE then Tan and half-a-point less then Raj (sorry but I do not remember the names of those that fell). Huh? How does that make sense? Even Hiroyuki Tomita scored a 13.850 following his terrible fall from the rings. With that fall he still received MORE points then Raj received on the pummel horse (I know they say you cannot compare apparatuses but come on, how does a person take a spill preventing their dismount score higher then somebody who has a little awkward moment?)

Is it me or does it seem as though the judges gave an incredibly unfair score to the US team compared to other competitors? I don’t know if we would have taken the Silver had we been treated more fair, but we certainly should not have lost by 3.025 points.

52. hey, j.
yea, i may make you cringe and damn proud of it. just like the boys are proud of their accomplishment.
stick to the republican right blogsites and unabomber support groups.
let the rest of us who celebrate our country's success in a world of bush oppression do so for the rest of the olympics. oh, for that matter, the rest of our lives.
and yes, i am a democrat new yorker who is indeed gay and happy to be so

56. Olympic medalists are winners, but they need to show a little tact. This picture is NOT tactful, and the "this is how we roll"talk just sounded ignorant. I am prod to be an American, but I am not happy with how the male gymnasts behaved themselves.

58. I seriously do not understand some of these people's comments. With Our Team being the under dogs due to loosing the Hamm Brothers. We were not expected to make it as far as they did. How can you not blame them for being excited as they were for winning the bronze. So they took a cheesecake photo. So has some of the other Olympic winners in the past, both the men and the woman! I don't see a problem with it.

59. I love these guys. No one expected anything once the Hamms were out, yet they got bronze. This is a great pic. Shows off their sexy bods. And kevin tan.. wow ... yummy

60. Because they are shirtless, you are calling them gay and homoerotic? If you're insecure about your body, that's your issue. These guys look good and most likely have better bodies than any of you. These guys worked hard to even be on the team and then to win a medal on top of that - AWESOME! As for those of you that have a problem with them chanting "USA, USA...", have you ever been to a sports event, or any type of competition? Geez, even beauty pagents get pretty loud.
