She is also generous, kind and an amazing athlete, with numerous medals of her own...she meant this comment in the spirit of humor which was unfortunately taken to the limit of insult. Please remember that the media feeds off of this kind of drama and give her the benefit of the doubt, as most blog responses are from people who do not know her OR Michael Phelps!

167. Amanda Beard said she meant it as a joke and that is exactly what it sounded like. It was preceded by a joke about Michael Phelps jerking off to Beard's Playboy photos and followed by Beard joking that the DJ's were her "type". The whole exchange was utter and complete sarcasm. Stop taking it so seriously.

Amanda is a very kind, caring person. Perhaps it is because she does not take herself too seriously, that she feels she can joke in the way that she does.

Beard and Phelps have known each other along time. Remember that when you think you know what Phelps thinks and whether his feelings are actually "hurt" by this obvious joke. She apologized ... isn't that enough
