R.I.P.
Dave Matthews Band Member Dead

TMZ has learned LeRoi Moore, the sax player in the Dave Matthews Band, has died. He was 46.

Moore was seriously injured in an ATV accident June 30 outside Charlottesville. He had a punctured lung and broken ribs. Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications.

Moore died in Los Angeles this afternoon, after taking a turn for the worse.

We're also told the band will perform tonight as scheduled at the Staples Center in L.A.

UPDATE: A rep for the Band just gave TMZ the following statement:

"LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. Moore had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program."

46. I knew this guy would die young. Probably the most talented of the group and that means a lot when you look at Carter Stephan and Tim Reynolds

49. I am a huge fan and 'Roi will be missed. His playing on Seek Up is too good for words. I am sure the show tonight will be emotionally charged and tasteful. Anyone that is a fan would probably rather be at a show with other fans during a time like this...hopefully like a large memorial...we didn't know him. we're not in the band. so who are we to say what's right...

50. Im miserable. He was such a talented musician. Kind hearted with a great great laugh. There are a lot of very very sad fans out there. He has the kind of talent that is not duplicable. The show tonight is going to be a very emotional one, and I'm proud that they are playing. No one knows for sure, but I feel that Leroi would want them too. Blessings to the leroi's family, and to the DMB family as well. Many Prayers. Blessed be.

(I for one, am going to go home, get drunk, and listen to the beginning of Say Goodbye, over and over)

51. I am so upset to hear this! I just saw them in June, and he was amazing as usual. DMB will never be the same. :(

As to the poster who said he outlived the band by 6-7 years....what are you talking about about? They still tour every year to sell out crowds nearly every show! After 10+ years!

52. Ok #8 the reason they are playing is to honor the memory of there beloved member and brother and it is what he would have wanted them to do. Now #13 I think that them playing tonight is like i said above to honor there brother and fellow member. It is a way for everyone to remember a great man also if you are a true DMB fan it is the way they remember someone. It is a way for the fans to be there for the band and vice versa. The show tonight will be one of the greatest and saddest moments in the bands history. My feeling go out to the band and to all the fans out there that have lost not just a icon but to the fans a friend.

54. many comments are off topic and quite heart wrenching to read. my heart is in the pit of my stomach aching right now for the DMB family as well as LeRoi's. very shocking to read how fans react to a great musicians death. "take a week off for a man who made them millions?"...if you were a TRUE fan you would know that it's about the music and their unity, the $ is just a bonus. all i can do right now is shake my head in disbelief.

55. How sad for us all. I lost my daughter 3 mos. before her 20th B-Day in a car accident. The last concert we went to togethr was to see DMB in Vegas. We made it a "girls" weekend with friends and had a blast. I am taking my youngest daughter who is 17 to see DMB this weekend. It was going to be hard enough to go. Now knowing that Roi has died will make it harder. I loved to listen to his solos!! what a beautiful gift he gave us all. We are blessed to have the memories of him and his music to keep with us.

My prayers are with his family, friends & all of his fans. He has made an impression on us all.

Ashley was there to welcome him to his new world. God Bless.
