R.I.P.
DMB Concert: "LeRoi Gave His Ghost Up Today"

With his voice trembling with emotion, Dave Matthews broke the heartbreaking news to a packed Staples Center crowd in L.A. last night -- that his close friend and sax player, LeRoi Moore, had died.

Just hours after he learned about Moore's passing, Dave told the fans, "it's always easier to leave than be left." Moore died Tuesday from complications stemming from an ATV accident in June, in which he punctured a lung and broke several ribs.

31. My heart goes out to LeRoi's family, friends and the band. The shows will not be the same without him. For those who mention that the crowd was so rude screaming and all, I bet they did not even realize what Dave was about to say, it was not announced on their website right away. Those at the show probably did not even know the sad story Dave was about to tell. Plus, it is always hard to hear exactly what Dave is saying at any show. As for the people who said Dave should watch what he says about it is easier to leave than be left behind. seriously?? I think that was a beautiful way to say we are the ones with a heavy heart, LeRoi is now sitting on top of the world with his legs hanging free. RIP LeRoi

34. I was at last nights show and was shocked by Dave's annoucement. While I do not wish to speak on behalf of anyone else who was there, I can tell you that I am deeply saddened by this news. LeRoi had an amazing talent , not only has the the band lost a member of there family the world has lost an amazing musician. My heart and prayers go out to the Dave Matthews Band and of course LeRoi's Family and Friends.

35. RE: LOLA...Why did you find it necessary to analyze the comment Dave made on stage in a negative way? A comment made in the midst of his heartbreak, shock, and loss of a friend and one I'm sure came from his heart. What you said was irrelevant to this platform. Much love to LeRoi's family and friends. I know your loss is so great. XO.

36. Saw them in OKC last week. Without LeRoi. It was odd seeing someone filling in for him. I saw them several years ago in Dallas. So, I at least got to see him play live once. I have been a tremendous fan of DMB since 1994. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing............
My prayers go out to his family & close friends. He will be missed beyond comprehension.
