Billy Bob Thornton is rumored to have been cast as Freddy Krueger in a remake of the "Nightmare" franchise.

Robert directed a film called "Killer Pad," which went straight-to-DVD this year.

16. The best! And he's a really nice guy. I'm disappointed that they would even consider making a nightmare on elm street without Robert- Lame! Nobody will be able to replace how he moves his body and stances. Just won't work.

17. There are some things that simply CANNOT be improved upon. NO ONE can do Freddy like Robert!!!! This remake is a lame money-grab attempt....don't watch it.....

18. I do not think that Billy Bob-a-dob Thornton Heath in South, London (ENGLAND) is suitable for the part. One-two buckle my show, three-four show Billy the door (and then help him out of it). Fans of the Nightmares movies know damn well who the Nightmares movies are based on and Billy Bob is a demi-friend of this mans (bad news). What is the (acting) World coming to? Let's go back to the quality that movies once were (sorry Billy-Simon, but you would not get a look in) then everone will be happy. Yes to more Nightmares productions but NO to Billy-Simon-Bob Thornstuckinsomeone'ssideton.

20. killer pad wasn't that bad, it was about some kids that buy an apartment that is a portal to hell. a bit of a stretch, but if you know what you're getting into it's not half bad :)

21. I saw Robert aka Freddy a couple years ago after a nutcracker performance in norcal! i think his nephew and neice live there and she was in the play! he is so freakin cool! when i saw him i was like "omg its freakin freddy kreuger!" he's short! i wish i went up to him to say hi!!!!

23. Replacing Robert Englund with Billy Bob is going to be more painful to watch than seeing Vince Vaughn replacing Anthony Perkins in Psycho. Oh god, I just threw up in my mouth.... There's only one Freddy and no one will ever compare to Robert!!

25. Omg! RObert England just did an AWESOME FILM called "ZOmbie Strippers" with Jenna Jameson and Roxie Saint. It was GREAT!!! I busted a gut the entire time! Top ten favs of all time!
