"Biggest Loser" Winner -- Giant Pain in the Neck

With a name like Matt Hoover, you'd expect that the "Biggest Loser" champ would suck at personal training. Well, if you believe a new neck-breaking lawsuit, he's an even bigger loser than you thought.
Read the docs
Clarissa Sanford claims she hired Hoover in 2006 to tone her ass up at Vision Quest Sports and Fitness in King County, Washington. She says Hoover not only was late and careless, but also, instead of spotting her, he walked away while she was bench pressing 40 pounds of weight. Sandford says by the time he returned the weight crashed down on her neck.

As a result, Sanford says she suffered "serious neck injuries which ultimately required a five-level fusion surgery from the C3 through C7 levels of her cervical spine."

She's suing Hoover and VQS for unspecified damages.

Hoover and club couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

16. why would anyone think that this guy could be their personal trainer just because he lost weight and was famous for 15 minutes? why the hell does that qualify someone to be a trainer? What was this woman thinking, that 3 months on the biggest Loser ranch made this guy an expert in physical fitness?
that being said, yes 40 lbs is a joke. I'm a bench-press weakling and I think I could press 40 pounds. Well maybe not but I don't think I would let it mess up my neck!

17. Regardless of the fact that it is only 40 pounds, if she required help to lift it or not he should have been there to help her. Some people really don't have upper body strength but I'm sure my 2 year old niece could lift 40 pounds.

18. I love the show Biggest Loser but I couldn't stand Matt!! He was such an ass! Plus the last time I saw him on the finale show for last season he was FAT again.

I wouldn't want a fat trainer!

20. I love the way you guys keep saying Matt was lame...I was for Suzy that year...she got second place. I thought she had something going with the married guy who got third place...then...she ended up with Matt who was kinda a jerk but not lame...then THEY got married.
This crap is better than a soap opera!
Now Matt has gotten fat again???
Do tell!

21. Did someone forget to take their smart pills that morning?!

Why in the world would anyone seek to be trained or whatever by someone who isn't a certified trainer?! Being on a reality show for 3 months or whatever where trainers are whopping your ass into gear doesn't mean you know what you're doing and can turn around and do the same with someone else.

22. Are you kidding me? This is the "biggest" bunch of BS I've ever heard. I'm so sick of people suing for anything and everything. She starts the suit with about how she stayed on the cardio machine for 1h40m. Ok, I've got a trainer, but I've also got a brain. I know that when I really can't do anymore, then I let them know. This is just someone trying to get a little bit of that money...probably someone who tried to get on the Biggest Loser and didn't make it on.

23. Wow brazen weep, nice comment.
Wish I was twelve years old again also.
Grow up and stop insulting innocent people with special needs.
Yuck.

25. This incident happened in 2006 and here we are in 2008. Wow look at the time line - hey lady, if you claim Matt was never on time and careless why did you continue to train with him??? There is such an action as breaking a contract and getting your money back. But that's the BIG word, MONEY, is that what you're looking for lady?? You sound like someone who is sue happy if you claim 40 pounds did this to you!! Why did you just lay in a Wal Mart parking lot claiming a car hit you - Wal Mart is a bigger loser than Matt. I think the biggest loser here is you lady for claiming you can't lift 40 pounds and now you want someone to pay for it. Isn't there other trainers out there?? THIS IS A LAME LAWSUIT!!!!
