A Denver TV station is reporting authorities may have foiled an assassination plot against Barack Obama, and there's talk the suspects may be members of a white supremacy group.
KUSA-TV claims three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop in Aurora (near Denver) turned up two rifles, high-powered scopes, ammo and meth. The man in the car led authorities to a hotel where another suspect jumped out of a fourth floor window in an attempt to escape.
A third guy was busted at another hotel but the info on him is sketchy.
The arrests went down yesterday. The TV station says sources said "Two of the men had tattoos and jewelry popular with white supremacists."
The mugshot inset in the photo is of one of the suspects, Tharin Gartrell.

FYI, Obama is NOT Muslim - he was raised Church of Christ by his mother. Obama's father was from Kenya, which is predominately Muslim, but again, Obama was raised here C of C.
I intially liked McCain, but honestly, Obama is closer to my values and ideals. I would love to have a black, or mixed race president - maybe then we could start to take the emphasis off of race relations and work on our real issues of war, the environment, resourcing so many jobs out of the country, and the eonomy in general..........

The Democrats posting on this site seem to have a very selective memory. John Kennedy (president), Robert Kennedy (candidate), Gerald Ford (President), Ronald Reagan(President). All of them were white and actually got shot. I seriously doubt this was an assination attempt. Too much hype, not enough facts. As others have noted, rifles are common in Colorado as is hunting. Also, the guys gave-up their compatriots as if they had nothing to hide and weren't planning anything more nefarious than a boys day out. if one thinks back to our previously assinated Presidents, they weren't 'group' events, they were solo efforts. I'd suggest someone is overreacting for the sake of headlines. Mr. Obama has got so much world-class security, I'd be surprised if he goes to the bathroom alone. I wonder, if when the facts are known, if the folks who first broke this 'assination attempt' will follow-up.
