A Denver TV station is reporting authorities may have foiled an assassination plot against Barack Obama, and there's talk the suspects may be members of a white supremacy group.
KUSA-TV claims three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop in Aurora (near Denver) turned up two rifles, high-powered scopes, ammo and meth. The man in the car led authorities to a hotel where another suspect jumped out of a fourth floor window in an attempt to escape.
A third guy was busted at another hotel but the info on him is sketchy.
The arrests went down yesterday. The TV station says sources said "Two of the men had tattoos and jewelry popular with white supremacists."
The mugshot inset in the photo is of one of the suspects, Tharin Gartrell.

I know Tharin, not incredibly well, but hav hung out with him more than a few times, and alway saw him at a bar that the both of us are regulars at.. Honestly, I'm shocked, never have known him to be racist, NEVER, not even a hint of racism. He was always polite to me, never in a million years would I have thought he wold be arrested for something like his.. Drugs are evil. Now I'm worried abou my other friends who are close to him, hopefully none more that I know will be arrested.
Tis just shows we have a long way to go as a country. Close minded people are usually the ones responsible for abortion clinic attacks, Gay bashing and the likes.... what a shame.
An attempt on someone that is still a long way off from possibly taking office surprises me more, than the fact something like this has not happened in the past 7 years with another person that has a FAR less approval raging! NOT that that would be right either, just saying that it is surprising is all .

All this really does is makes me want to campaign harder for Obama in my town. I think it is high time that we have change in this country. I think that if Obama is president then a lot of fields will begin to be level meaning that the middle class will rise again. I also think that is time that we have someone that doesn't look the like the majority to take control of the White House. Maybe we Americans will become more intellectual, and seekers of knowledge and not just here for entertainment purposes.
