Denver Cops Make ABC Reporter Their B*tch

When a cop tells you to move, you probably should move.

Instead, the man in this video -- an ABC News producer in Denver for the convention -- told the officer, "Hold on." Not a smart move.

The cop didn't take too kindly to that and took it upon himself to move the producer himself. After the cop pushed him into the street, he then told the producer, Asa Eslocker, he was blocking traffic. According to ABC News, things eventually got heated and Eslocker was arrested and charged with trespass, interference and failure to follow a lawful order.

151. Hmm...Seems as though someone is trying to recapture 1968. What's next the Chicago 7? (In actuality it's the Chicago 8) Please don't resurrect the establishment that emasculated Hoffman, Rubin, Dellinger, Hayden, Davis, Froines, Weiner, and Seale.

152. The cop was an overweight rent-a-cop slob from Boulder. Don't judge all fat-ass slobs by this cop's actions. Asa did nothing wrong except try to do his job.

154. This is how opposing speech will be treated under an Obama administration. The ABC guy was doing a story on fat cat donors and filming from a public place (very legal). The Obama campaign directed the police to stop the reporter. In another story, the Obama campaign has asked the Justice Department to begin a criminla case against a group airing an ad showing Obama is tied to radical William Ayres. In an Obama administration, you are not allowed free speech. Be worried; be very worried.

155. according to ABC's own blog, the one who pushed him into the street was a a Sherrif's Deputy. The Denver Police didn't show up for 2 hours later and took him because the hotel complained. So besides the Deputy pushing the guy into the street Denver PDreally did nothing wrong

156. #118 - just because he was told to move does not mean he has. He has a legal right to be on a public side walk and to report the news. Hopefully I am explaining this right, but I have read: it is not illegal to be on a private sidewalk that blends in with a public sidewalk.

As I said, I truly hope that these officers are stripped of their badges without pay, an investigation is made, and I personally feel these officers should be FIRED! During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You’re lucky I didn’t knock the f..k out of you." I hope that outburt plays over and over in his head when he is unemployed. And, those officers should have their unemployment benefits denied when they are hopefully fired. Basically, thrown out on the street with NOTHING!

Additionally, I hope a major lawsuit from Asa is won not only against Detroit, but also the hotel.

157. SORRY GRANDMA ,BUT YOUR FULL OF SH@#.I know for a fact not all Cops are so clean themselves.I live in Maryland, and had a Uncle who is now a retired Police Detective.Believe me if everyone knew what kind of Cops their tax dollars are paying for.You would all be amazed,in fact half of them are very poorly educated, and in fact alot of them take the job to try to prove they are big men,and in fact they do let the power get to their heads. In the past 3 years in the City I live in here alone there has been several police brutality cases. One where a cop dragged a 7 month pregnant, black woman out of her car,and threw her to the ground on ner stomach causing her to go into premature labor, but hwen it came time to go into court. The video tape from the police crusier somehow vanshied.A off duty police officer killed a fruniture moving man, then lied to try to cover his ass.He was only one of few whom got caught in his lies.A man was just killed in his prison cell a few weeks ago,but as usually somehow the servalance tapes have dissapered. There have been several alligations of the Police Cheif, and fellow officers raping women, and teenage girls. Not just a few,and it has been over years that this has happened. So to the one who said that she has family in Law Enforcement, and tried to paint a pretty picture. It is not,I have family on the inside as well, and what we see and are told is much different than the reality.

158. Are you serious? How much police abuse do we as American citizens have to take? The reporter was on public property which according to law, anyone can be on so long as they are not impeading the traffic path of either vehicle and / or pedestrian movement. According to this video and granted we don't have the full copy, it clearly appears that the reporters were not impeading anyone or anything. It's ironic that just the producer was arested and not the camera crew. I truely hope that Denver makes an example of these three officers; one being their supervisor on the scene (the one performing the choke hold). Reporters have rights as well as all American Citizens. By simply moving when no illegal act has been committed, is stupid. Stop acting like cattle and submitting to the prod of the police and those in power. Stand up for the rights that we have. Denver Police - 0 for 2 when it comes to making themselves look professional.

159. #74 - "if a cop says move, you move" - right? Don't question authority, right? Just keep your blinders on and don't question anything.

Geez, you'd make a good Nazi.

160. This is what happens when you're doing an investigation of big lobbyists contributing to the Obamas campaign The lobbyists and big money donors were in an exclusive meeting. The Obama campaign didn't want photos of the donors or the meeting. The ABC News reporter is doing the same news story next week at the republican convention. What I want to know is how much did people pay to watch the convention or Obama's spoeech from the luxury boxes at the ctadium of convention center, and who paid? Could they be lobbyists??

161. The policeman is in charge. When he tells you to move, you do it. Funny how negative people can be about policemen...until they are in trouble and need their help.

162. Police officers have to be held to a very high standard, otherwise they are a menace rather than protectors. Good and effective police officers don't act like those we see here. A good officer knows how to handle such situations without acting like a thug.

Any community has to carefully monitor and control those with the guns and the badges and accept no excuses for abuse of power. Good police departments try hard to weed out those attracted to the gun and the uniform for the wrong reasons. Nazi Germany didn't happen overnight - citizens kept quietly accepting one abuse after another until everybody was at risk.

Hope this video helps nail these guys to the wall... The first thing I would investigate is if a little extra money changed hands from certain parties before these officers disgraced their city. And if it's a sign of routine abusive actions by the Denver police - maybe this can help wake people up to finally do something about it. Usually corrupt police abuse the powerless, might have made a little bit of a mistake this time.

163. This is the reason I do not like most cops/sherrifs, they lose their temper if someone doesn't listen to them, even if the person isn't breaking the law. Cops are not God, they are not everyone's parent, and if a person is not breaking a law, they do not have the right to tell someone what to do. When that happens, many cops lose it. How dare that person, they think and lose their temper. Cops need to obey the law themselves and I hope this cop gets what is coming.

164. No, it's NOT that simple. If a cop orders you to move, he'd better have a damn good reason for it. The uniformed militia in this country are out of control and need to be dealt with.

165. Actually what an intelligent person does is, move when asked and then gets an attorney and sue the Hell out of the city or county. Or how about moving and then reporting the violation of his rights on the.......oh, I don't know....the NEWS!! Or doesn't the producer of ABC NEWS have access to a camera. LOL!! I mean think about it. How stupid is it for this guy to openly defy a cop? Too many people have this anti-establishment attitude or are their plain stupid and don't use their brains. Move first!!! SUE or PUBLICIZE ABUSE LATER!!!! GEE I wonder if the ACLU will get involved or are they only willing to defend people who are planning on disrupting the RNC in St. Paul next week?! IF so that will make them a bunch of f*cking hypocrites!!!!! Personally, if any pukes block the street I'm driving on.......can we say speed bump? LOL!!!
