Denver Cops Make ABC Reporter Their B*tch

When a cop tells you to move, you probably should move.

Instead, the man in this video -- an ABC News producer in Denver for the convention -- told the officer, "Hold on." Not a smart move.

The cop didn't take too kindly to that and took it upon himself to move the producer himself. After the cop pushed him into the street, he then told the producer, Asa Eslocker, he was blocking traffic. According to ABC News, things eventually got heated and Eslocker was arrested and charged with trespass, interference and failure to follow a lawful order.

166. Has anyone mentioned the fact that DPD has had two accidental killings in the last 4 years on calls they were out on? One was an elderly disabled unarmed man in his bed (the cops crawled in through the guys window) the other a young boy that had some sort of disability as well (down syndrome maybe?) Denver police are known for being brutal and have numerous cases against them like this and similar to the one you see here.

These cops should be trained to handle a situation like this without using force. What they did was totally and completely uncalled for. I mean really, what did the guy do wrong? He said hold on and started moving back at the same time. What idiots. How about they do something really noble and serve our country rather than sitting around directing traffic and smoking their cigars or eating candy bars to add to their fat ***!!!

167. I was photographing in Denver from 6AM to 11PM all 4 days.

I think the cops did a pretty good job and were remarkably restrained even when being provoked.
I got to the Brown Palace right after this incident so I can't say if the cop was out of line or not. Could be that the cop told him to move several times first. Simply don't know for sure.

168. People are so busy nowadays, worrying and fearing what's next. STOP! Think about what you can do to help others that don't have it as good as you do. What have you done lately to "Pay-it-forward" like the book "21 Days To Creating Your Dream Life" talks about? Try doing one thing every week, eventually everyday, to change the perceptions of how people view each other.

169. it sounded like the "lets move" came from his camera or sound guy the cop spoke after the lets move comment. But what happened before this was edited is anyones guess.

170. I sincerely hope that none of the posters here who find the Police to be power hungry pigs will bother contacting them should they be the victim of a crime.

Because you know, cops make stuff up so you know, that guy didn't really rob you, rape you, kill a family member, steal your stuff, etc.

171. Cops are paid public servants and should conduct themeselves as such. Whatever happened to protect and serve? If cops want to be treated with respect they should treat citizens with respect. The reporter was not breaking the law and pushing a person backwards into oncoming traffic was clearly dangerous and a violation of his rights. It's not illegal to inform a cop that you are aware of your rights and the choke hold in response is clearly police abuse. The reporter should sue the Denver Police Department and ABC should back him up in the suit.

172. He's one of those cops who went into "law enforcement" not because he wanted to, but because he got so many "D's" in High School no one else would hire him. The guy was wrong for telling him to waot a minute, but the force should have training to defuse situations instead of escalating him....maybe they do and he got a D in that too....

173. Of course my common sense comment was removed, here at the good old TMZ. Yup, censorship is alive and well. For the record there was nothing offensive nor was there any swearing just plain old every day common sense. I guess the folks at TMZ don't like any opinion other than their own! All I said was : Don't argue with the cop, move FIRST and then sue or report the abuse later. After all, the reporter had to figure that the cameraman was recording, so why not move and then do a special segment on the abuse of power by cops in Denver? I also pointed out that too many idiots try and prove how tough they are by standing up to cops. The only thing they prove is....how stupid they are! MOVE first then SUE, SUE, SUE!!!! Or report it to the nearest news agency. I don't of any news outlet other than ABC maybe who wouldn't love to do a story about cops abusing their power.

174. It seems the police are once again acting as pigs. Pushing and proding the public.
