Denver Cops Make ABC Reporter Their B*tch

When a cop tells you to move, you probably should move.

Instead, the man in this video -- an ABC News producer in Denver for the convention -- told the officer, "Hold on." Not a smart move.

The cop didn't take too kindly to that and took it upon himself to move the producer himself. After the cop pushed him into the street, he then told the producer, Asa Eslocker, he was blocking traffic. According to ABC News, things eventually got heated and Eslocker was arrested and charged with trespass, interference and failure to follow a lawful order.

46. A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producers arm behind him to put on handcuffs.

The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street.

During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You're lucky I didn't knock the f..k out of you."

WHAT PART OF THIS IS THE POLICE JUST DOING THIER JOB? THE HOTEL PROPERTY STARTS AT THE POSTS NOT THE SIDEWALK.

50. First of all, when you start pushing anyone around, give them a reason as to why you're doing it. The cop pushes him into the busy street, and did not give the reporter a reason as to why he had to move. If you're driving a car, and you get pulled over, the officer will tell you why you're being pulled over. They don't just start writing up tickets, because they are required to tell them the reason for this action. And then to push the guy into the street and start complaining about him blocking traffic. If the reporter does decide to sue, he has proof the officer is aware that there are approaching vehicles, and he's putting him in harms way by pushing him in that direction. Did you all hear the arresting officer? "You're under arrest buster" !! What a bunch of Barney Fifes!

54. Hey #48, I don't care who you are related to what that officer did was inexcusable. The police are there to enforce the law not make up their own laws. If you are not breaking the law the police have no ritght to harass you. That cop commitede a crime and should be charged. He actually chased the guy INTO THE STREET AND RISKED HIS LIFE BY DOING SO!! AND FOR WHAT - BECAUSE HE'S AND UNDER EDUCATED THUG WHO HAS TO BOOST HIS EGO BY PUSHING PROPLE AROUND. Police officers only need a highschool degree to become cops. I think that should change and this is a good reason why. That cop needs to be fired and prosecuted. If a citizen had done that they would be prosecuted. Why are cops allowed to break the law. They even kill people and get away with it. And this fat cot needs to drop 50 lbs or so. How can a morbidly obese cop do his job properly. I hope ABC Gets an army of lawyers on this and show this pig for what he is - a thug in a uniform.

56. Didn't these idiots know they were being recorded by the camera man? I really can't believe the conduct of these cops. Pushing the guy into the street and choking the skinny reporter with all your buddies backing you up? Even if you make the argument that he should've just moved, look THE A-HOLE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE HIS G-DAMN CIGAR OUT OF HIS MOUTH. I'd be embarrased if I was from Denver.

57. This is why CANADA is better than the UNITED STATES. Here in Canada you can stand on a sidewalk without being harassed by the boys in blue. In the UNITED STATES it's a bunch of cowboys and Indians running wild with guns.

God Bless Canada!

60. There are reports he was doing an expose on the influence of big money lobbyists who were attending a luncheon with big wig Democrats. wonder if they told the guard to get him to leave? This guy is going to sue big time. Maybe this was what they were talking about when they said "recreate 68".
