Giant Injury on Set of "America's Got Talent"

Paramedics rushed to the L.A. set of "America's Got Talent" this weekend when a stunt involving a 7'3" giant went terribly wrong.

TMZ has obtained footage moments before the incident showing a contestant named George the Giant bound by chains and hung upside down from the rafters -- but that's where the tape cuts. Moments later, the footage starts again, and George can be seen being strapped into a gurney and wearing an oxygen mask while a team of medics tend to his well being.

Moments later, he was rushed to a local hospital for "complications" -- no word on what those "complications" are.

George was scheduled to appear on tonight's episode, but at this point, it is unclear -- and unlikely -- that he'll make the show.

18. Actually, the man is from my town Bakersfield and a local celebrity, he's also a world record holder for a few things and a genuinely nice guy. He is also NOT Mexican... he's Scottish actually. He's really involved with the SCA (Scottish Association). My fiance used to work with him (he's a security guard). My thoughts are with George and his wife. Poor guy!

22. pncmsing,

Probably because America Doesn't Really Have Talent beyond being really good at liposuction and believing their mediocre skills at singing and dancing entitle them to be "stars." If it really bothers you that a Mexican was allowed to participate in a totally worthless reality TV show, ask them to change the name to North America has (Limited and Over-rated) Talent .

Gigantism is a medical condition and the blood vessels are frequently very fragile. How stupid do you have to be to hang someone prone to vascular and/or heart irregularities upside down. This sounds like the idiotic "drink til you die" contest an LA radio station ran that actually killed someone. Note to "reality TV" execs: Find your brains and try using them for a change.

23. George the Giant was the only act that was original last night. You may not have liked his performance but it was unique and to many quite funny. The rest of the show was the usual stuff. Singing , dancing and not one moment of comedy... until George did his thing. Thank God he did... the show needs variety and needs this perspective. The producers are giving the television audience the usual sob story with the typical emotional song to back up what we say in all other "american idols" and now all the "america's got talent." If you do not believe me... Check out on youtube the Paul Potts opera singer from Britain's Got Talent. The producers are creating the exact performance. The 4 year old singer has sung the exact songs the little girl from Britains got talent. This show is unamerican... it should be called "Been there, done that" Also... the show is so cheap none of the contestants are paid to give their time to the show. Only one winner. Ha. 1 million paid out over twenty years.
