256. ...I understand plenty about addiction. I was a partier from way back and never considered myself an addict. To make a long story short I did end up facing my problem head on and was in counseling with a good counseler, means a lot too.... But I learned that addiction is not predjudice, is very patient...Look she has been clean but it is a problem that don't go away, never ever. There are tools to fight off and you can win over this disease but once you slip it will grab you again and again and again till it takes your life somehow....Through death, imprisonment, or institutionalized. Eventually you lose it all when it comes to drugs. I talked long enough, I wish I had the time to tell you a story about an alcoholic, and what I mean when I say, "Addiction is patient" I wish all addicts find the help they need and use the tools to beat it, including drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating, whatever it is that ails you...God bless all...

257. Hey people the news stated that she was busted for alleged possession of herion and cocaine. there was no mention that she was under the influence of the drugs. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt. She still may be clean.

259. Eh, what else is knew! The ONLY time I hear about Mackenzie is either when she's arrested for drugs or going in to rehab!! Did any of you know that her father was one of the Mamas and Pappas?? They were druggies too, so I blame THEM, idiots of the 60's, for her misfortune of drugs. I think that ANY parent who is or was known for doing drugs and hanging out w/others who do them, and their kids start doing it because of them, should be JAILED for wrecking their kids' lives. It's a miracle that Mackenzie's still ALIVE at the age of 48! I'm sorry, Mackenzie, that your life has been ruined...your father was a jackass. But how long are you going to keep doing this to yourself and your OWN kids?? Until you're dead??? Clean up your act before you're dead girl, start talking to Jesus; He's your only hope.

260. To the person who signed her/his name "Bonnie Franklyn"....Mackenzie's father is NOT one of the Beach Boys, lame brain. That would be the woman who lost over a hundred pounds (I forget her name). Mackenzie Phillips is the daughter of a singer from the Mammas and the Papas. I know because I'm 5 yrs younger than Mackenzie and remember this.

262. I feel sorry for Mackenzie Phillips she is just a product of her family who was part of the musical group "THE MAMA's & THE PAPA'S. She has been off and on drugs for years. I pray that she gets the help this time and stays clean. She needs to get the monkeys off her back and learn to live.

Booze and drugs are just a symptom of the problem. It is a thinking disease. Maybe she needs other medications to level out her brain! I am in recovery, and only with 12 steps, getting a sponsor, and working the steps does your life get better! I feel really sorry for all you lame M F who have no clue as to addictions and other mental issues! YOU SUX!~ M get up and go back to a meeting! We love you! 269. Some understanding people posting; but mostly sounds like a lot of shallow self-righteous condescension from small minds.

My heart goes out to Mackenzie. I almost prefer (my own) straight forward struggle against substance abuse to the desolate 'kick 'em when they're down' mindset displayed in a lot of the posts.

She's a fine looking creature by the way.
