Mackenzie Phillips Bailed Out: Take Two

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Bijou Phillips, Mackenzie Phillips' half-Scientolosister, showed up to the jail in Van Nuys this afternoon to post her sister's $10,000 bail. As we first reported, Bijou tried to do that yesterday but Mac was having none of it -- telling Bijou she preferred staying behind bars.

Guess a night in the pokey changed her mind.

51. Addiction IS a disease (check with the AMA), but unless you have this particular disease -- and if you don't, fall on your knees and give thanks -- it's hard to understand, that's for sure. Addicts can arrest the progress of their disease, but they are never cured, and relapses are always a possibility. Most addicts find that they cannot maintain their recovery unless they join a group like AA, NA, etc. because there is "safety in numbers" and these groups provide time-tested steps and tools that allow the addict to recover, one day at a time; also, the members not only provide support and encouragement, but will point out when another member is starting to BS him/herself and slip back into dangerous territory. McKenzie is obviously a true addict and a sick lady, and it would be decent of all of us to pray for her to get back on track with her recovery, for both her sake and her child's, rather than judging, blaming and, worst of all, wishing for her to die.

53. big bear, you just explained why you feel the way you do. because you, no one you loved, no family members, no one you were close to had this disease. it's VERY easy to say those things when you haven't been there. and also, everyone stop arguing with the dude who writes in all CAPS because clearly he has an iq of 7. CLEARLY. addiction is a disease. this woman, along with millions of others like myself, have it. it is not something you get by choice. i understand you choose to pick up drugs (at least in the beginning) but there is no choosing to be an addict. addiction is not just using drugs. the disease encompasses way more than that, and all of us that have it know we've had it since long before we started using. one more thing... people who get lung cancer from smoking, they chose to smoke knowing it's bad, so then is lung cancer that someone gets from smoking NOT a disease?? because they "did it to themselves?" anyway, good luck mackenzie, go to a damn meeting. recovery is possible, you can stop this pain. BUT NOT ON YOUR OWN.

55. This woman is broke and hasn't been attached to anything signficant in years and years. I find it hard to believe she was EVER clean. I'm sure she's been using for years. She had it all and threw it away, screwing over many people on "One Day at a Time". I'm sure she is broke and has engineered this whole thing to get a reality show or to go "Celeb Rehab." It stinks like a contrived, fixed incident to propel her back into the public eye. I mean how else would she get anyone to pay attention to her? Seriously this woman did a few seasons on a TV show in the SEVENTIES! Aside from that, she's only known for a being a hopeless dope fiend.

57. Hope she gets cleaned up. I wish Schneider (Pat Harrington Jr.) would intervene - he was a big help on the TV show!
