18. NFL PLAYER ALLEGEDLY HAD GIRLFRIEND KILLED FOR REFUSING ABORTION
CHARLOTTE, NC, Nov 21 (LSN.ca) - NFL player Rae Carruth is on trial for murder following the 1999 shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend Cherica Adams. Prosecutors say Carruth, wanted Adams to abort their child but she refused and therefore he hired someone to shoot her. Adam's, 24, was eight months pregnant when shot. The baby was delivered via caesarian section and survived but Adams died a month later. Medical personnel testified that Adams revealed Carruth was behind the shooting.

21. Women don't deserve to get hit!!! Obviously Mr. Northcutt’s agent is as dumb as him!!! Mr. Northcutt, his cousin, and his agent, have absolutely no gumption or moxie! And to whomever left the comment stating that she sued 3 hours after the "beatdown" is a complete idiot!!! This event happened in May! That would be 3 MONTHS after it happened! Once again, call this woman a gold digger and a whore, but the fact still remains that it takes 2 people to make a baby! If Mr. Northcutt didn’t want his money taken he should have worn a condom! It’s sad to see we live in a world that thinks a woman “deserves” to get hit!!!! And other women will call her a gold digger instead of thinking about what this poor woman is going through! Did anyone stop to think that maybe this woman accidentally got pregnant and due to religious beliefs she couldn’t have an abortion???!!!! You never know what the case may be; so for all of you out there…stop playing God and trying to judge someone!

22. I just read this book "Interceptions" - about a chic who dated an athlete. And ohmygod, Athletes are a trip.
I dont think i would date one after reading the book. This chic who got beat down, should pick up the book and READ it!

23. Another good book is "The Pros and the Cons in the NFL". This kind of behavior is pretty common for athletes. And that the jerks lawyer says the victim probably deserved it? He sounds like a nice guy....NOT. as a former victim of spousal abuse, I could care less if the guy is Joe Blow or a pro athlete. Nobody has the right to strike another human being. These guys want the high life that comes with being a so called star...the women, the parties, everything but the responsibility of being a decent human being. Many of them, like Rae Carruth think they can get away with murder. Fortunately Carruth is doing time for murder. And what is the crap that she would run to an abortion clinic if the father was a nobody? Asinine! I agree that too many women give it up too easily to be with these guys, but it still does not give them the right to hurt a woman.

24. Rod Carruth anyone???? For those of you who DO NOT know who that is....he USED to be an up and coming young NFL star...who got his girlfriend. he did NOT wish to pay her any child support so Mr. Carruth paid someone to kill her...before she had the baby.... who can shoot a pregnant woman is beyond me but some people will do anything for a buck...SO ANYWAYS....they succeeded in killing Mr. Carruth's girlfriend but the baby survived and is living with the woman's mother. The boy had severe cerebal palsy due to the trama while his mother was shot to death! Nice hey!

25. I know Sharri Henry personally and want to add some factual information to this dialogue.

First of all, Sharri is a DIVORCED mother of two young boys. She married at a young age. She has since tried to raise her two children as a single mother with little to NO support from her ex husband, who was her high school sweetheart and was (may still be) playing basketball in Europe. Her story is similar to that of many urban women...growing up in an unstable environment and trying to survive. She is an attractive woman who does not look like a man as some commented. Being an attractive woman from the inner city of Los Angeles, her frame of reference for elevating her status and making a better life for herself and her children may have been limited to the stereotypical, "golddigger" methods that folks are referencing in the comments. Sharri did, however, work hard as a waitress at one point and then managed to work harder to place herself in a more stable and professional envirnment, securing and maintaining a position at a professional environmental and public affairs consulting group in Los Angeles.

I know that she has dated Northcutt for years...I have personally witnessed the relationship since 2002 and found her to be sincerely enamored with and committed to him. If she was, in fact, a TRUE "golddigger", she could have had a couple of children with Northcutt by now. I am not endorsing Sharri's personal choices in men or lifestyle. I am merely trying to paint an alternative portrait of a young woman who was, in fact, assaulted. Regardless of any character flaws she may have, or poor sense of judgement when it comes to relationships and elevating her social status, there is NO excuse for ANY one to assault a woman in the manner that she was and ESPECIALLY while she is pregnant.

It saddens me that folks are so quick to villify a young woman in these situations with professional athletes and entertainers(especially when they are African American) . While folks are so quick to criticize the behavior of alleged "groupies" or "goldiggers", they need to be examining a society that unjustly continues to reward and forgive thugs, philanderers and dead bet dads, because they enjoy watching them on a field or stage. So, she filed a civil suit. I would too. That is her legal right.

26. Lisa...is Sharri's attorney aware of the comments by the agent/opposing counsel in this matter? If verified, it is helpful for her case. I have walked in her shoes, I am now finishing my MBA/JD. I wish her luck.

27. His agent, attorney or whatever he is, is obviously a complete idiot and ignorant pig! I don't care who it is-well known or not, NO ONE deserves to get a "beatdown"!! And if people would take responsibility in the first place-HELLO!-there are things called contraceptives and condoms now days-they wouldn't be in this place to begin with. What part of that don't people get??? Saying "we just got caught up in the moment" is no excuse. But should you use that excuse, get pregnant and keep the baby-you won't be caught up in the moment any longer-you will be caught up for the next 18 years!!
People-think AHEAD-not just with the wrong head!!!!
People want to "play" house, have unprotected sex and think it won't happen to them. And some women want to get pregnant just to snag a guy, or someone famous with money to boot. And even though it takes both people, it's the child who suffers the most. Now days, some people change partners the way most people hopefully still change their underwear! Sad and pathetic and we wonder why kids are growing up the way they are, and why the world is such a mess!! Wakeup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

28. UPDATE: IT JUST GOT CRAZIER. Northcutt's sports agent, Jerome Stanley, told TMZ, "This was nothing but a desperate shakedown by a jilted ex-girlfriend who is claiming to be pregnant with his child." Stanley says Henry is upset because Northcutt dumped her for another girl. As for the assault, Stanley says, "She verbally antagonized the guy who hit her." He says Northcutt knew nothing about the attack until after it happened.

Sorry...I don't see where he said anything saying she deserved the beatdown!!! I just find it interesting that the ex wasn't arrested!! No arrest but she is already sueing him....hmmmmm
