David Duchovny has had just a little too much Californication.
The actor says he's entered rehab for sex addiction. "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family," he says in a statement.
Duchovny is married to actress Tea Leoni, and the couple has two children.

35. Way back when Duchovny announced his engagement to Tea, papa Duchovny gave an interview that went something like " this will never last, he can't stay faithful to anyone, he's a dog, yada yada". Tea should have listened to her father-in-law.

36. To those who keep saying why make this sort of announcement if you really want privacy---generally these types of press releases are what another post mentioned---preemptive.
Either David's people know that some media outlet already has pictures or something that they are about to release, or they fear what some tabloids will print if something is found out........so they issue their own press release in order to take away the "scoop" factor for the tabloids. This way they have at least a little control in how this story is presented to the public.
I mean, look at how the tabloids twist the truth all the time........celebrities are pretty much forced into revealing their lives through their own press releases if they don't want exaggerated stuff printed.

38. If he truly has a sex addiction, he has been cheating all along. Maybe his wife finally caught him, and has told him to seek out help, or its over. This is why he entered a facility, and has told the truth.
People can be addicted to sex, like anything else, so I can believe this. He probably loves his family but cant seem to get his urges under control. He must be bad, to enter a facility.

44. Rich famous people have too much spare time on their hands. If you give any random person 50 million dollars and they only have to "work" 3 months a year ( which is basically smiling for a camera ), that person will probably develop some weirdnesses. Regular working perople don't have the time or energy to be sex addicts.
