76. As if this came as a total surprise? I thought he had also admitted to it way back in the beginning years of the X-Files too. Lack of self control does not equal 'addiction'. I suspect perhaps there's more to it such as he was found cheating on his wife and she threatened divorce.

Sex Addiction can involve a wide variety of practices. Sometimes an addict has trouble with just one unwanted behavior, sometimes with many. A large number of sex addicts say their unhealthy use of sex has been a progressive process. It may have started with an addiction to masturbation, pornography (either printed or electronic), or a relationship, but over the years progressed to increasingly dangerous behaviors.

The essence of all addiction is the addicts' experience of powerlessness over a compulsive behavior, resulting in their lives becoming unmanageable. The addict is out of control and experiences tremendous shame, pain and self-loathing. The addict may wish to stop --- yet repeatedly fails to do so. The unmanageability of addicts' lives can be seen in the consequences they suffer: losing relationships, difficulties with work, arrests, financial troubles, a loss of interest in things not sexual, low self-esteem and despair.

Sexual preoccupation takes up tremendous amounts of energy. As this increases for the sex addict, a pattern of behavior (or rituals) follows, which usually leads to acting out (for some it is flirting, searching the net for pornography, or driving to the park.) When the acting out happens, there is a denial of feelings usually followed by despair and shame or a feeling of hopelessness and confusion.

78. He's into porn, I don't think its cheating with women. Tea must be sick of him watching porn all the time at home and wants her to act out scenes, and just maybe he visits strip clubs too. All you gotta do is look at the X-files and his character Mulder is a porn addict as seen in a couple of episodes which give a brief indication of him watching it in his office.

79. I can't believe this. Is this hype for his show or what?? How embarassing for his family. The guy is a movie star and what do ya know?? He is so f___ed up that he has to waste his time and probably money while he could be doing other more positive things in his life. He needs to reorganize his life and spend his time and money on charity work. And, needs to keep thinking that one day, his kids may be told about their good old dad "the perv" and the things he did while they were kids. Maybe that thought might help him to control himself. Go to church!

81. Just mentioning SEX brings out all the sick and twisted PERVS..........hell that's why I'm here! But mention the word ADDICTION and all the "12 Steppers" come crawling out of their holes. And dis a CELEBRITY and the psycho wards across America leave the back doors unlocked. Jeez what a lovely combinationn!!! Mr. David "XXX" Duchovny probably got caught downloading from the "Animals Are Our Friends.....at both Ends" website.........SERIOUSLY!........how else can you explain leaving Tea Leoni @ home and whacking it over at Old MacDonald's Farm? That ain't an addiction that's a poor f**king excuse from a total freak-a-zoid. Damn you Duchovny.....damn you......go ahead leave Mary's Little Lamb.......BUT Tea??? And all you "Addictions Are Us" freaks.......go home and stay there......I don't think there's an Agoraphobic's 12 step program....yet! PUHleeeeze stop justifying, explaining, or preaching towards those of us who are willing to call a perv a PERV! We get and support drugs and alcohol rehabilitation and say a prayer for those folks and their continued sobriety. After that you kinda find those other "addicts" and their "addictions".......well desperate to justify their particular perversions. The only exception to the rule is ALL Klay Ache-in fans and their"Klaymania!" So please addiction "addicts" just go and disappear. And you Duchovny-aniacs.......why all the hating over critics of anything "Duchovny?" Even the Addiction addicts won't touch y'all with a 10 foot pole. (pun intended) I never got the whole X-Files thing so I can't fathom you Duchov-niacs. But anybody who gets all hot and bothered over a "sex addict".......Mmmm?.......Jerry Springer's gonna be calling.

82. funny how some people can ridicule a person for their addiction no matter what it is
or a publicity stunt, but i doubt that, (even though it was my first thought)
What about internet gossip addiction?
I mean this is coming from people reading a web site they call a parasite
I end up here out of boredom and surfing the web cause frankly I'm also nosy
however If you cant stand TMZ, then stay away, it's not rocket science.
