Van Halen to McCain: No You Can't

John McCain used a Van Halen song during his big speech earlier today and the band wants to make one thing clear -- they're not running with McCain.

Van Halen management tells us the band had no idea McCain was planning on using "Right Now" during his big entrance in Ohio telling us, "Permission was not sought or granted nor would it have been given."

For the record, Dubya used the same song during a bunch of his campaign speeches back in 2004, but sources close to the band tell us, "They're not political, they're just rock and roll."

198. Of course not. Any musician or artist or actor or anything connected to hollywood will never support McCain. He shouldn 't even bother using their garbage. They only support wacked out left wing liberals. It's a rite of passage to support a party that has no det of moral values. Hollywood is pathetic and all they can do is fall in line and try to make sure they are just as liberal as everyone else without any true thought as to what anyting means or what they stand for. Pathetic.

199. Hey Kathy - "obama is brown for a reason"................Please tell me why he's brown. I don't know maybe because he has more melanocytes in his skin and therefore more melanin. You are an idiot kathy! I'm a republican but people like you make us look real bad. Just stop posting!!!

200. The GOP has been pushing laws about copyright and crack down on file sharing for years... and yet they can't even ask for permission before playing a song at a public performance. Public performances are not allowed without compensation... nothing new there. Sad.

201. What is all this CHANGE the DONKEYS are talking about ? Menopause ? Like hot flashes and night sweats , they'll continue down this faulty path till they see the error . hehehe don't tell them..

I love my USA the way it is with all the problems , which we always work to improve , but sadly , 'THE POOR WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US " .

We all have a dream and for many it isn't a pleasant one.

Let's keep our nation intact , as a people, united together for the common good not just the special OUTSIDE interest groups working feverishly to CHANGE us.

SO far i simply detest the Democrats and the way they try win people's support like it is some TENT MEETING from the 1950's .

I'm HEALED !!!!!!!!

202. Anyone who says Van Halen are has-been's needs to be punched. They just sold out every arena during the 07-08 tour. Has-beenn's don't sell out every time they play live and have 2 Cd's that have sold 10 million of more. Good work VH...don't let that old bastard use your music. Plus McCain used Sammy Hagar VH....WHAT A TOOL!!!

205. Razorback - that doesn't validate anything if it's true. What it tells me is that you don't understand issues, values or people with much sophistication. Universities crank out people who have memorized a great deal about specializations or job training. What has that got to do with what makes national or deeply personal values and systems work? It says absolutely NOTHING about what any particular individual has learned or experienced in life or what their value to the country or community is or can be.

Anyone who thinks that a degree in anything would guide one automatically to be Republican is very naiive and shooting in the dark with a water pistol in a tornado. Now put yourself in that situation and tell me you've got a good process managed or a smart target selected, considering the situation. Talk about political spin!

Pointless "credentialism" is a wonderfully lazy and deluded corporate crutch that robots subscribe to. But that doesn't give anyone wisdom, awareness, thinking skills, intelligence, wonder, curiosity, creativity, responsibility, well rounded character development, worldly experience, accomplishments, track records, or fans, etc. What it gives you is a list of books you've memorized and are fast forgetting.

Einstein failed math in school. So, WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE FOR NOT RECONCEIVING THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE ALREADY???????????

206. Jackson Browne has already filed a lawsuit against the entire GOP. I hope that the judge sends a loud message that politicians will respect musicians' work by ruling in Mr. Browne's favor. These politicians, most of who are Republicans, have shown that they have no respect for other people's work.

207. OOPS! SORRY, RAZORBACK! I misread your post and thought you were pro-Republican on the education topic. My error! I was up late and reading too fast, since the pro-Palin posts here are nonsensical I thought I owed it to the nation to tear into those posts relentlessly. I shall learn to read more slooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwly before I pounce from now on.

RAZORBACK RULES!

208. A choice of VP is too important not to fully investigate and the
press are going to be all over this Palin issue; flying up to Alaska
and everywhere Palin's been, talking to EVERYONE, checking ALL THE
RECORDS, digging deep. It's only fair now that we already have Palin
on FIVE intrigues after hearing her name for the first time just a
few days ago:
1) TROOPERGATE
2) WHO'S BABY WAS IT GATE
3) UNWED 17-YR OLD GATE
4) SHE'S NAIVE AND FAR RIGHT
5) SHE'S A TOTAL MISMATCH FOR VP AND PRESIDENT
