Suspect Named in Murder of Ashton's Ex

Ashton KutcherPolice have used DNA to link a man to the 2001 murder of Ashley Ellerin -- who happened to be dating Ashton Kutcher at the time of her death.

The story goes like this: Back in the pre-Demi days, Kutcher told police he went to pick up Ellerin for a post-Grammy party, but she didn't answer the door. He looked through a back window and saw what he thought were red wine stains on the carpet. He eventually left.

Those weren't wine stains and her body was discovered the next day by a friend.

Michael Gargiulo has been in custody since June for attempted murder of another woman. That's when DNA tests were used to link him to several murders, including Ellerin's.

Gargiulo's lawyer, Anthony V. Salerno, says he has not been charged in Ellerin's murder, but admits he's the prime suspect.

21. i agree this is a little over the top ashton didnt even check to see if anything was amiss when he saw stains on the carpet? if he nothing to hide he would have been on the phone calling the police even if there was nothing wrong and the stains turned out to be only wine it still is the right thing to do weird just plain weird

25. Any young girl would have been so excited about going to so star studded thing...yet this moron did not question her not answering the door? He probably saw the body and was afraid he would get blamed for it....the least this chickens--t coulda done was call the police....but no the poor girl laid thre til the next day.....no we will never know if there were still any life in her and/or she might have been sad. I hope this "bummer" haunts him.

26. That is beyond bizarre. He goes to pick up his date for a big grammy party and she doesnt answer? no girl would ditch ashton kutcher for a grammy party, and he knows this. THen he sees RED STAINS on the floor and the person is not coming to the door? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLO....LIGHT BULB....i would immediately call police. not going to get what you're saying. These are the same people who
constantly post that celebs are messed up and terrible. They say that they
hate them and nobody should care about them, yet they keep coming to
TMZ. They don't understand the contradiction therein. And you're
right; most of these people feel that they are a part of the person's
life via TMZ. Look at Mary, she says that she "needs more answers".
Mary, I'm sure the police will be calling you soon to give you a
proper explanation. Bunch of retards. Get back to the TV; I'm sure
there's a new "reality" show that you're missing while you're looking
at TMZ.

30. I hope I'm not the only one who whould like to know more information about this murder investigation and this very odd behavior. Maybe this is how disconnected we have become as a society. Dating has become so casual that you would not investigate her whereabouts? I would rather my grandaughters and greatgrandaughters NOT DATE!
