The most shocking part of this fiasco, and there are many, is that Palin PROUDLY and DEFIANTLY proclaims her 17-year-old daughter will marry the dude who knocked her up... as if that makes it alright. Huh?? Are you f''in serious? A 17-year-old has NO BUSINESS getting married, pregnant or not. It's another patronizing attempt to appease all the conservatives whose common sense has been completely clouded by religion, Palin being one of them. Clearly she is pressuring, and probably demanding, that her daughter get married. And if the marriage lasts more than 3 years I'll be shocked. What a joke.

Oh, and for the record, if McCain/Palin were to win (and given the stupidity of approximately 51% of this country based on the last two elections I begrudgingly concede it's possible), Palin will now be caring for 5 of her own children, one of whom has Down's syndrome, and a newborn grandchild who will be born right around inauguration time. Brilliant choice Mcidiot.

59. So would it would still be a beautiful display of American family values if the pregnant girl was just another 17-year-old from one of the inner cities? Would we be applauding the pregnant teen's decision if she were black, Hispanic, Asian, or anything beside the privileged girl in this case?

I'm disgusted by the sudden turn of conservative rhetoric once their own nightmares come to life. Any other teen pregnancy would be referred to as a "tragedy" or "shameful" event. And it's not about race. When Jamie Lynn Spears announced her pregnancy, parental groups and other conservative interests demanded her to be tarred and feathered for being a poor example to young girls. So now that these conservatives have their leader in the same position, it's suddenly a positive example of American family values? Please.
