Gossip & Rumors
"Dr.Phil" Set Cursed?

Dr. PhilA string of bad luck -- including two deaths -- has the staff at the "Dr. Phil" show wondering if their set is cursed.

Sources close to the production tell TMZ in the last few months two employees of the show have passed away and two others suffered medical emergencies. We're told one staffer recently died of cancer, while a young intern who had strep throat was dead by the end of the week. Our sources also tell us the wife of an editor recently suffered a family tragedy, while a producer suffered a concussion and a broken arm while on the Paramount Studios set of the daytime talk show.

Our sources say Phil and other execs have been trying to retool the show for the new upcoming season and that has some staffers feeling the bad luck may be a sign they should leave well enough alone. We're told Phil held a staff meeting this past Friday where he addressed the recent sad turn of events and attempted to boost the crew's morale.

A rep for the "Dr. Phil" show was not immediately reached.

32. 15. so? I imagine there are over a hundred people who work there. If you were in a office with 100 people, they all would have similiar stories of accidents, cancer, heart disease. What a dumb " story".

35. I hope it is a curse. We've been cursed by his presence for years now. Is there an exorcist for Dr. Phil?

36. I can't believe anyone takes this idiot seriously. The conly urse is his bad advice going out to thousands of people. This guy has NO license to practice psychology. His license in Texas was taken away for inappropriate behavior with a patient. When he still lived in Dallas, I was subjected to several of his seminars at my place of business. They were two of the worst motivational sessions I have ever attended. All of us who had to sit through them laught about him to this day.

Have you heard Kathy Griffin talk about him trying to put the moves on Jane Fonda? She said Jane Fonda handled him cooly and he was so stupid he didn't get the put down. I couldn't believe he put out a book on weight control. Look at him! What a nerve. And books from his kid, his plastic wife, etc. Give us a break.

38. I liked Dr. Phil when he first came on the scene. He does have good insight on many things and is an intelligent man, but after he started making comments and suggestions about everyone and everything that really had nothing to do with him, I got tired of hearing it. He has a tendancy to be overbearing with his guests who already have enough stress going on in there lives already. They turned to him for help and he turned into a way to make ratings for his show and added book sales. He makes it like his opinion and advice is the only "right" one. Go away, Dr....and take plastic Robin with you.
