Celebrity Justice
Mackenzie -- 10th Time's a Charm?

Mackenzie PhillipsTMZ has learned Mackenzie Phillips is now in rehab.

As we just reported, the D.A. has charged Phillips with two felonies in connection with her drug bust at LAX last week.

No surprise that her mega-lawyer, Blair Berk, now has ammo in her arsenal -- namely, that Mackenzie is taking steps to deal with her drug problem. FYI, she's been in rehab nine times before.

17. FYI - I have been addicted to coke and meth. After watching a family member od trying to kill herself I decided to quit but later I allowed my exhusband to lure me back. A month into it I finally realized how stupid it was risking and wasting my life plus my money getting high so I decided once and for all to quit for good. I am very, very proud to say that I have now been clean for 5 years and still going strong. I did it with pure determination, not rehab! If one truly wants to quit they need to find the power within, no one can force you to get off drugs or stay clean. Wasting your time and money doing rehab 10 times proves she is not committed or serious about getting clean and being forced into it with the threat of jail time isn't going to work for her either. This isn't something am I proud of or wanted to share with everyone but people have been in her shoes and conquered drug abuse - without the money and luxury of rehab!

18. Come on Harvey - the lady is addicted which I am sure is no fun and not a walk in the park given her family's past addiction issues. Love TMZ btw!

19. One report said she had track marks on her arms, and others say she is missing teeth and is broke.

This actress at one time partied with luminaries and dated Linda Ronstadt's record producer, Peter Asher.

Not only has she fallen, she's fallen pretty hard. I remember watching her "E! True Hollywood Story". It actually ended on a happy note. Alas, that was short-lived.

What did A.J. Benza ('memba him?) used to say--celebrity: ain't it a bitch.
I'm not enjoying her troubles, but I do think she's had many more chances than an ordinary American would get.

20. Addiction of any kind is horrible. I'm sure she wishes she can stop having the urge to use them. I dought she wakes up and says I'd like to do drugs so that I can destroy my life. She'd probably be the first person to say how disgusted with herself she is. I've always liked MacKenzie and pray that she can beat this addition once and for all. We should keep showing her our support. She had been clean for a long time and the devil is always on your back. She was weak but so are all of us in one way or another.

21. This is not a funny issue. She has taken her time to help others and has unfortunately fallen back again. My prayers are with her for recovery.

24. Good for you Jokerface. I didn't do rehab either. I just celebrated 15 years clean and sober. I joined AA and LISTENED to what they told me. Yup, got a higher power and I go to meetings every week.

It NEVER goes away, but addiction CAN be beaten in 24 hour periods.

As for rehab? It saves lives, I've seen it. Does everyone "get it" and stay clean? Nope, but the ones who go to meetings every day in the first few months have a good shot at it.

It's pretty easy to kick any drug, all you have to do is COMPLETELY change your life. Happily, lots of folks do.

Nice to see the positive remarks here,

25. Everytime poor McKenzie comes on TV to claim she's "cleaned up," she's wasted...how is this known??? Because after she gets busted, goes back in rehab, and makes the rounds on the talk shows, she admits that she was "high" when she was on previous shows claiming to be clean...Amy Winehouse has 20+ years to go if she wants to catch up with Phillips...I mean, this chick has been admittedly high since she was what...ten??? She says she used to shoot-up with her dad, John! Quite sad, actually...

27. She looks terrible. As with most addicts lying and manipulation are commonplace.Mackenzie had alot of us fooled, when she said the drugs were history, years ago.Maybe she wanted to get caught, who goes through an airport wilth drugs and needles.

28. Lets see. Drugs for 26 years. Rehab 10 times. Thats a rehab every 2 1/2/ years. Rehabs therefore must not be very effective. Maybe she needs something else. Jail is the only thing that comes to mind. Would she keep using if the only consequence of her behavior were rehab? Obviously yes. Would she keep using if jail was the consequence? I think not.

29. Hey, give her a break. The first time my husband was in rehab, the doctor there told him that HE had gone through rehab more than 50 times before he got sober. My husband went through 9 rehab programs over 5 years, and time living on the street and in parks before getting sober. Some never do. Some die. Some are sober for years, then "go out" (relapse). If you're not an addict, you can't understand. I know I don't. But it's clearly a lifelong struggle. And if the addict is sober today, that's a good thing.

30. Good luck Mackenzie in you're renewed attempt to stay clean. I know it's a tough one, but I know you can do it. Many posting crude remarks have no idea what addiction really is. I hope and pray it dosen't happen to one of their family members. They would then know how hard a battle is is to get clean and stay clean.

May you're chosen higher power be with you at this time Mackenzie.
