Brand Blasted for Cherry Pickin'

The Jonas Brothers all wear purity rings -- but VMA host Russell Brand got in some serious hot water with his extremely impure jokes about the Disney virgins.
Russell Brand: Click to watch
Humorless "Idol" champ Jordin Sparks ('memba her!?) defended the boys after Brand bragged he'd bag 'em all by the end of the night. Hope he stayed away from Nick -- that kid's only 15!

61. Russell Brand did exactly what Russell Brand does, and exactly what he did at his gig that MTV booked him after not only that he did it fabulously, so y'all need to grow up, go find your sense of humor (they may sell those on line) and teach your lads that the world doesn't want to see their asses. Funny how everyone seems to have forgotten the big winner was the original "I'll stay a virgin until marriage" lier, and that half the audience's rap sheet can be looked up on this site.

62. GOOD FOR YOU JORDAN & JONAS BROTHERS

DO NOT EVER LET ANYONE BELITTLE YOU BELIEFS. I ONLY WATCHED ABOUT 25 MINUTES OF THE SHOW, BEFORE I TURNED TO TLC. I DID NOT GET THE COUNTRY BASHING FROM A MAN THAT IS SOMEONE I NEVER EVEN HEARD OF. AND WHY DO WE CARE WHAT HE THINKS.

63. I totally agree w/#4 comment. This guy is a total a*hole. I heard him bashing our President and telling people not to be racial and on and on about Obama. I was pissed and immediatly turned the channel. Go back to your Queen you Queen! How pathetic of MTV to even have someone like this idiot hosting a show. If I want to watch a political show that is one sided, I will tune into CNN thank you. Pathetic.

65. Must be hard for Americans to hear what most of the world says behind their backs about some of their quirks. I thought always thought Americans liked up-front disclosure and respected people who speak their mind?

66. Why is everyone so shocked? comeon..MTV has sucked hardcore since the early 90's. They even gave up on their own name..MTV...Music Television??? Yeah right. CTV is more like it..Crap Television. Also..I will seriously throw up if I hear one more person try to defend the Jonas Bro's. Give me a break. Every single "clean cut" kid turns out to be a slobbering, drug abusing, gender confused, sex tape making moron. You want moral standards? Why the funk would you look to hollywood or the entire west coast?

67. What a stupid show. I felt like I was watching a 7 year old's birthday party where the kids had been given way too much sugar and caffeine and there's no parental supervision. Brand was the out-of-control troublemaker. Not fun or funny.

68. The MTV awards are the fakest most rigged "awards" in music. Russel Brand did exactly what was expected of him, if they didn't want him to say stuff like that, they wouldn't have hired him, that's what he does. But I must say, and odd choice for the mainstream virginal audience of MTV. Oh what a bastard child of yourself you have become MTV. Too much inbreeding me thinks.

69. Who is this douchebag? He wasn't funny and the show, as usual, was unwatchable. Bush bashing? Yeah, that's fresh. If we have more idiots like Brand telling everyone to vote for Obama, McCain is a shoe-in.

70. Dear Americans.
you are stereotyped as having no sense of humour, not getting irony and generally being a little bit stupid.

however, that is a stereotype- don't live up to it by coming online and making silly comments that make you sound like a bunch of spoilt children who got picked last for the school sports team.

Russell Brand was an edgy choice, but MTV knew what he was all about when they booked him, if any of you realised that the world does actually exist outside of Ohio you might know something about him...as the rest of us are supposed to about you..its sheer ARROGANCE on your part.

As for the Jonai and Sparks- do you really think anyone will care in five years when they're washed-up alcoholics selling their stories to entertainment tonight? If you don't want to be lampooned don't court the spotlight...the two go hand in glove.

Oh, and for the record we wouldn't care if people made fun of the queen as we do ourselves so often anyway- its called HAVING A SENSE OF HUMOUR...
What about John Edwards? he makes fun of Dubya all the time and I don't see a lynch mob forming for him!?

Funny how none of you are so offended that I won't find you queuing up outside Buckingham palace next summer shoving chips (sorry, CRISPS) into your slobbering mouth while you go on and on about "how the entire place would be speaking German if it wasn't for you"
xxxx

71. The show was so horrible and boring. I shut if off after 20 minutes. Can MTV sink any lower?

72. #63..oh yeah, we have 'quirks'......like coming to your rescue during WWII. But I guess that's ancient history...at least it is for anyone who actually found Russell Brand funny. Now someone like Ricky Gervais can comment on all our 'quirks' while remaining a "decent fellow". The late great George Carlin had a lot of criticisms of this country but managed to be both funny and truthful....and most of us found him hilarious.

And to be completely frank...most of us in the good ole USofA don't give a rat's azz what the rest of the world thinks of us...just like you really don't care what we think of your country.

73. The guy is an unknown, he is a no-talent hack. He is a douchbag. No wonder MTV's ratings have plummetted. All the shows have forgotten music. Nothing bu trash, my kids wont watch MTV when the grow up, it basically teaches your kids to be a slut or a spoiled turd. Hope the host gets disentery.

74. I thought Russel Brand was GENIOUS last night!

Jordin Sparks needs to remember that no one really knows who she is except she's the girl who sang on that Chris Brown song. (showing they don't even know it was HER song not HIS) She's a behemoth who consistently dresses in metallic empire waist dresses that only maginfy overall her size and stature. (she's like 6'4 with her god awful taste in shoes) . The Jonas Brother's definitely don't need her to come to their defense, I'd say that their fan base would be more effictive.

You're gonna need more than the presence or absence of a ring to dispell or confirm slut status.

I love you TMZ.

75. He's a comedian - comedians poke fun at people - that's what he was hired to do. Lighten up people, jeez.
