Matt Damon: Palin's No Wall-E

To Matt Damon, having Alaskan GILF Sarah Palin as VP would be like having another "Underdog" -- aka, a "really bad Disney movie."

There's only one problem with that theory: Underage pregnancy would never fly at the Mouse House.

451. No doubt about it, the IP addresses of most of the posts on this thread would lead back to McCain campaign computers! So it must have been the janitor, right?

BloggerGate!!

The charades of the McCain campaign may be coming to a close. The important people, the authentic people, the national and international players are now starting to pay attention. Lipstick on pigs will now shift into dealing with the issues.

OBAMA / BIDEN in 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

452. Matt, I respect your comments, because of your extensive experience in politics. Did you touch a newspaper once when you were delivering them? Hum, delivering newspapers, acting...delivering news papers, acting...I believe you have the wrong job, you blithering idiot. You must be kidding. "Real" people are still trying to figure what in the world you are talking about. It must have something to do with delivering newspapers. Go back, they may still take you, if your butt still fits on a bike seat. If it's as big as your head it won't.

454. I was so pleased and relieved that McCain announced that our economy was in great shape. I had worried that with all these investment house, lending house and Insurance company closures and the weak dollar and high gas prices and the highest unemployment in five years that the economy might be having a rough time - so was so relived to know that its all ok. I think he was making that announcement will sitting on the back of his pet unicorn and holding the pot of gold that he had found that morning at the end of the rainbow. Whew! what a relief. During the speech, Sarah who was staring longingly over at Russia, which she can see from her back yard, and saying to herself, "All of that will soon be mine too."

455. I think Kid Rock said it best "I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics, Because at the end of the day," "I'm good at writing songs and singing. What I'm not educated in is the field of political science. And so for me to be sharing my views and influencing people of who I think they should be voting for ... I think would be very irresponsible on my part." Why would you allow someone who has no clue how the average american spends their day working hard to make ends meet, who has no clue what it takes to pay a mortgage, who has lived in a dream world like the rest of Hollywood most of their lives influence your vote. Its up to you to educate yourself on the candidates and their policies, and vote for whats best for you and for America. Please dont let these uneducated, overpaid, media whores influence your mind and your vote.

457. I am so sick of "actors" thinking they know it all when it comes to political candidates. STOP USING YOUR CELEBRITY STATUS (which is totally overrated for Matt Damon, btw) AND COMMENT ON POLITICAL ISSUES!! Palin has just as much experience in office as Obama, and she has been in charge of the entire state. That experience is much different than Obama just trying to get laws passed. Matt, do you even know how many times Obama has made his stance "present" in voting, as opposed to actually placing a vote? More times than anyone would want, seeing as how he is running for President. Present just means he is there, but does not take a stand on issues. Boy, I'm sure glad you know your candidate so well, seeing as he has the same amount of experience, in a different political office, and is now running for President (not VP, as Palin is). Get your facts straight, and actually know what you are talking about before you shout your mouth off about things that are not true. I used to like you, but now I will no longer support you or your movies. My Mom grew up in Southie, and she is a hard-core Democrat, but she is not nearly as nasty as you are when speaking about the opposite candidate. She has a lot more grace and dignity than you will ever have, and I'm proud to say she is from Boston. I can't say the same about you. Learn some tact, and then hopefully teach that to your children.

458. NORENE, I understand exactly what you are saying about celebrities, but where the hell do you get "same amount of experience"? Just because idiots like Matt try to say Sarah Palin has less experience than Obama, you are going to try and be nice and just for the hell of it say,"same amount of experience"? When that is clearly not even true. When the people who oppose her are willing to downright lie about her.I don't get it.They have even got to you and you don't even realize it.

There is nothing wrong with a celebrity talking about politics, what is wrong is celebrities who comment on politics and think they can't be criticized because they are celebrities.Matt can keep talking, but so can we.Matt has it very good, if he wants to take a gamble on hurting his career go ahead, I would suggest he gets all the facts first or thats exactly what he is going to do.

459. Wow -- where do I start? First - Why does his acting career make him someone who should provide political analysis? (answer: because he CAN) Why not ask him for investment advice too. Second -- if he knew what he was talking about, an actuarial table is all about very broad averages, genetics and lifestyle have a whole lot more to do with it. Given the age and vigor of his mother, the statistical probability of him dying in the next 4-8 yrs is about that same as yours (maybe less, given the actuarial tables for people in the entertainment industry). Finally -- your hockey-mom comment was not only condescending, it was a stupid business move on your part. Middle class Americans (and their teenage kids who get $ or transportation from said hockey-moms) are a huge chunck of your box office revenues. Working Moms with kids in hockey (soccer, volleyball, golf, etc etc) are not living a bad Disney moving -- they're living real life. Something you know nothing about. Shut up and act.

460. Matt Damon can say anything he wants, what he said is valid and all you whiners would rant on for hours if someone videod you and put it on YouTube. So shut up, go to the washroom and flush your brains down your toilet.

As for Palin and McBush, Republican politicians always show an immense ignorance of social issues and ABSOLUTE IGNORANCE of themselves (except for reptilian greed), or inner awareness. They are pointless reptiles. Knee-jerk comments coming out of skulls with an attention span of 0.5 seconds and no capacity for comprehensive awareness, open minded learning, consideration of all perspectives and contexts, or of checking on anything any other Republican politician claims. D'oh! MORONS! People like that belong in casinos and prisons, not in public office.

What counts for Republican politicians is selling out to the first corporate bidder who can offer you a few shares of the company. Nothing goes down on its knees faster than a Republican politician, in the presence of a tie, or in the case of McCain, a skirt, or in the case of Palin, a "Liars Club" guidebook. They are a gang of degenerates and so are all their "Christian Right" and talk radio partners in crime.

461. You know, Matt Damon was pretty much a nobody, B-movie actor when he won an Oscar. Who is he to talk? Should we say he didn't deserve to win an Oscar because he didn't have enough experience in Hollywood? I have seen my last Matt Damon movie. And my last Charlize Theron movie. And Lindsey Lohan. And any other celebrity who chooses to disrespect Sarah Palin. I'm sure there are celebrities out there who don't like Obama and Biden but they have enough CLASS to keep it to themselves.

462. Dear Mattisback (and others),

Thank you for the feedback. I am happy to have the feedback and debate this in a friendly manner. Let's clarify some things and continue to discuss, if you're cool with that. First, it seems we agree that celebs should keep their mouths shut publicly. I'm certainly not saying that they cannot have their opinion, everyone in this great country does. What bothers me about that is several things:

1. they have influence over citizens of this country (movie go-ers, fans, etc), and those who are not interested in finding out the facts on their own. Who will just go with the celeb's opinion? It's totally one-sided. When Alec Baldwin threatened to leave the country when Bush was elected, why didn't someone enforce this ( myself included, even though I live in VA?) He was a total advocate for the Dems. and did not follow through with his promise.

2. Let me just say that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you are a celebrity you have a voice everywhere, which we general citizens do not have. That is what bothers me. Celebs use their influence, (voluntary or involuntary) to get their opinions out there with out knowing all of the facts..

2. I saw Matt Damon on Inside the Actors Studio, and he slammed Bush, which bothered me. I watched that show to learn about his acting skills. Everyone has an opinion, and that's great. But being a celebrity means you have more influence on the population than the average person. If you do, than back that up with evidence, which I have never heard/seen from him. This is what I take issue with.

3. I am all for everyone's opinion to be heard, and am all for Bob Barr (Liberterian candidate) to be a part of the debates, but this great system won't allow that. I am registered independent, and would like to hear Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian candidates speak during this election.

Okay, I'll quit for now. Going back to my initial reason for writing, I can't stand celebs offering opinions and taking stands for things that they don't unsterdand or follow trough with.

And as far as experience goes, I was looking at Palin's two years, versus Obama's two years. Tell me whare I'm snowed,
