Whoopi -- Will McCain Go All 1864 On My Ass?

Whoopi Goldberg tried to bait Sen. John McCain into saying something stupid today on "The View" -- by wondering whether he would turn the White House into a plantation.

Awkward, awkward, awkward. As always, that kwazy Barbara Walters saved the awkward day with one of those hilarious race-imperialist quips that just kill.

557. "In an interview with Mark Segal of the Philadelphia Gay News, Barack Obama indicated that he would not proceed unilaterally in fulfilling his promise to do away with the "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gays in the military.
Instead, the Democratic presidential candidate said that he would work through a step-by-step process with the military brass.

"The reason," Obama said, "is because I want to make sure that when we revert 'don't ask, don't tell,' it's gone through a process and we've built a consensus or at least a clarity of that, of what my expectations are, so that it works.""

There is always a process and consensus. Sounds like backpedaling to me.

558. Did Whoopi say that because McCain is white? If he was black do you think she would have said that? Her comment was disturbing given the fact that she is such an intelligence woman. She should know better than imply that he is racist and that because he is white his ideas would be stepping back towards the time of slavery. This man is a veteran and he didn't only serve the white people of our country. It's hard not to wonder if some black people are backing Obama just because he is black. I have a handful of reasons that I would back him (I am white) and it has nothing to do with race.
It's too bad that we can't make the race and sex of the candidates a secret. Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to come to a decision based on the important issues?

559. Whoopi............you just summed up the entire liberal movement. What a complete idiot, besides you never experienced slavery or anyone you have known. Face it, there is more slavery being done in your "mother land" than any other part of the world. You are out of your league when it comes to making any political statement. Maybe you can get your buddy Michael Vick to help you out on this one............RETARD!!!

560. It's clear what the political stand for a lot of the participants of this particular discussion are, so I really, really (really) don't need to comment on that, but what I will comment on is this. Fox News and other news outlets are clearly avenues to forward the extreme rights' position, especially during this Election season, no one can argue that point. Those hate mongers are not attacked. Let one day time talk show air to allow other points of VIEW expressed, and the hosts (save one) are "pigs, idiots, racists, unintelligent "b's"...." the superlatives run the gamut. The major problem here is that McCain was called on several important points, and he either had to acquiesce, or talk around issues presented, and his followers are insistent that we, as Americans repeat the hard ships of the last 8 years.
******NEWS FLASH*******
People are SICK AND TIRED of being an after thought.
People are SICK AND TIRED of the lies, and blatent abuses of power.
People are SICK AND TIRED of the antiquated trickle down theory.
People are SICK AND TIRED of watching our Country be a laughing stock around the world.
People are SICK AND TIRED of having to choose whether to have utilities and gas or buy medicine and food.
People are SICK AND TIRED of making oil companies have record profits, and their own places of employment downsized.
This list could go on and on.
How on earth could we have allowed one person (and his pack of jackals) to bankrupt our Country, and be expected to want the same thing for 4 more years, all via his hand-picked sucessor? No, it is too easy to even comment on his selected running mate....Nope, not going there. Say what you want, but I, as one cannot wait to vote in November. We need to end this madness NOW.

561. Actually...

I'm just SICK AND TIRED of all the jackass liberals in our country using Hollywood and the media to run down and destroy our country because they can't get over the last TWO elections.

It's mind over matter and CLEARLY your minds are so polluted with hate and conspiracy theories...nothing else even matters, especially the TRUTH! You people are about as f@#ked up as a soup sandwhich.

When hasn't an election been about the crappy economy, national security, government vs. religion, abortion issues, race relations, health care, welfare and corrupt politicians that abuse their powers???

Seems like the same damn BS every four years to me, so what's different about this one? Who (in their right mind) expected things to be all that great after Sept. 11th anyway? Some people are so spoiled and stubborn they can't look past the nose on their own face, to see what's REALLY going on in the world, and God forbid they have to be inconvenienced in some way.

The Democraps are running the show in Washington. Can you image what things would be like if they even sat in the BIG chair? or is that the "condition" to be met in order for them to actually DO something for the country....LET one of theirs WIN another election and they'll behave finally and call off the liberal media bloodhounds?

562. Whoopie doesnt even have eyebrows for crying out loud how can anyone take her seriously?!?!..she is a well over middle- aged woman who dress like a confused fifteen year old boy....she is a comedian and I take whatever she says with a huge grain of salt..Sound Petty? Yup..as are most of these McCain haters who cant find anything cleaver to say while they comment on his age and use the same stupid jokes over and over....I just found out Obama is one of the most watered down "black" celebrities..Lok up his blood line and what was it I read, 1/9 african american? Regardless ...it saddens me that our presidential candidates grace the same covers of trashy magazines showcasing celebs only made famous by their sex tapes.... this line has been blurred and all of these talk ahows like the View are nothing but fluffy on air versions of US weekly....talking trash and spinning gossip...its pure entertainment..Just like TMZ.....lighten up people..If your searching for your political awakening on the view or TMZ for that matter...I feel really bad for our country's future....

563. I make a habit of not watching those hags on The View (except Elizabeth) but made an exception because McCain was on. I also watched them fawn over Obama. They treated McCain like he was the devil himself. How are they keeping their viewers informed if they obviously favor one over the other? I swear I thought Joy was gonna have an orgasm just saying Obamas name. Its disgusting. AND I have lost all respect I ever had for Barbara Walters because she really just sits there and lets Whoopi and Joy and even Sherry do whatever they want BUT she's quick to try to shut Elizabeth up. What a bitch!

565. I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO MAKE A COMMENT REGARDING THE VIEW; I AM WONDERING WHY IT WAS NOT PUT ON THE VAST LIST OF COMMENTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE; I KNOW I WAS THE FIRST BECAUSE WHEN I MADE THE COMMENT "NO COMMENTS" WERE ON THE SCREEN WITH THE PICTURE OF THE CAST OF THE VIEW; SO WHY WAS MY COMMENT NOT ADDED; I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW

566. #563 Polly..Yes lets be intelligent about this. Are you on drugs? Pro life is AGAINST abortion and pro choice means they APPROVE of abortion--thus pro abortion. I won't vote for a man who 4 times voted against a bill that required doctors to treat babies who were still living after a botched abortion (have you heard the nurse speak who held a dying baby for 45 minutes after a botched abortion, and none of the doctors could or would help it?) Obama said that voting for the bill that required physicians to treat a living baby from a botched abortion would "undermine the original choice the mother had madel" Someone should hand one of these babies over for Obama to hold on to til it dies--tell me then it's not a human life. Pro choicers are offended when pics of mutilated fetuses are put on their cars etc, cuz it's so disturbing, but in the same breath tell you its just a bunch of tissue. Give me a break. Everyone is blaming the Bush administration for everything, but they forget things have taken a downturn since the democrats took over congress--except gas prices, those have skyrocketed.
