47. Oh dear god, will you morons quit talking about Whoopie asking about being a slave again and focus on the real issue. MCain said he wants to see Roe v Wade over turned and become a state issue. I'm laughing, gratz McCain, you just lost the majority of those Hilary supporters you've been wanting. Not even your bull dog Pantoring Palin can save your now. And when hearing how McCain was talking about our constitution, I can understand why Whoopie asked that question.

I am always bothered to hear the present generations of black people complaining about things like slavery, which ended almost 150 years ago, or the Civil Rights movement which occurred 40+ years ago as if these things happened to them. Young black people have no concept of the actual difficulties that previous generations had to deal with on a daily basis. Today a black man could become president and some black people are still complaining about all that slavery has done to them. How about channeling all that complaining into doing something for yourself, your community or your country. How about being the best person you can be and learning skills that will help you make a better life for yourself. To expect someone else to give you a better life, instead of working hard to get it will never get anyone anywhere.

52. Her comment was completely ignorant and, dare I say it, racist. The United States constitution in Article 13 clearly outlines the prohibition of slavery. I always enjoyed Whoopi as a comedian, but I'm really sick of hearing this "the white man is going to send us back into the dark ages" spiel. They know good and well it would be next to impossible to get slavery into popular acceptance. I'm not watching The View again after comments like that. She doesn't want to discuss, she wants to see how far she can push the bar. Even though I don't like McCain, he should have reached back and slapped her right in the face.

57. I've noticed with Joy that she can be all mouth and sarcasm but when the person she has been talking about is actually there in her face-she backs off and is timid-sort of a sign of a bully

and Whoopi's comment today struck me as though she was trying to create a controversy or a problem where one didn't exist

maybe it bothered her that McCain is a decent man and handled the (biased against him) interview well

they want us to take them seriously in the political area but how can you when you watch this segment

Barbara is no longer a serious journalist-she never was all that in the political area but she did have a bit of credibility

and at the end of the show when Barbara was trying to convince McCain to get Sarah Palin to do her show_I hope Palin doesn't do it

McCain was the first one to do the show since the conventions-their beloved Obama hasn't yet given them his time-they should have treated McCain better-he doesn't have to do this "bitter harpy" show as one blogger put it

and to top it off
saw Susan Sarandon in a clip today comparing Obama the community organizer to Christ and Palin the governor to Pontius Pilate
sickened me-sunk to a new low with that one

with all this negative stuff it makes me lean to McCain-the debates and town hall meeting with real people with real issues is what I'm waiting for-not what a bunch of ego-driven overpaid actors have to say

58. In my opinon whether you like McCain or Obama, Whoopi liked like a complete moron. Then she goes on to fan herself as if she needs to cool herself off. If she is really so ignorant and obviously prejudice that she thought she was actually in danger of being enslaved, she should waive her right to vote based on lack of intellectual property.

If the point was valid it wouldn't require grandiosity to garner attention. If she didn't actually believe she was to be enslaved then it was all histrionics. She makes Obama supporters look so desperate they have to act like drama queens to bring attention to their cause?
