Whoopi -- Will McCain Go All 1864 On My Ass?

Whoopi Goldberg tried to bait Sen. John McCain into saying something stupid today on "The View" -- by wondering whether he would turn the White House into a plantation.

Awkward, awkward, awkward. As always, that kwazy Barbara Walters saved the awkward day with one of those hilarious race-imperialist quips that just kill.

63. ((((LOSTLASS #30)))))))))..........

I agree. YESTURDAY's slavery should not be in comparison to today's society.

Unfortunately, and MOST of you will not understand what Im about to say unelss you are black...and even IF you are black, you probly still won't get it either:

WE ARE mentally in chains. Look at the rappers out today. Knowing good darn well most black people don't live the way they make their music, still make music that pretty much put US in a very bad light. Of course when so-called 'gangster rap' started, there were young Black kids out there shooting each other and treating eachother bad. But who capitalized on it the most to make money?? Virgin Records. Sony Records. Interscope records. WHO owns those major record companies? You guessed it....caucausin White males. If WE (black people) are going to 'kill OURselves' why not make money doing it, and KEEP it that way by making the only once Black network on t.v. NOTHING but the very thing that hurts US: misogyny, guns, violence, crime, drugs, black self-hate. All for the All Mighty Dollar.

And even though it is Black people making most of hip-hop/rap music/world, WE ARE NOT REAPPING THE BENEFITS! What COULD be positive and going back into OUR communities is lining the pockets of fatter than the man himself...are old, white men who know NOTHING about the kind of lifestyle that rappers write about, let alone, CARE how those words AFFECT us!

That is just an example, a very big example might I add, that WE (black people) ARE in slavery....mental chains, slavery of the mind.

66. @Lostlass

I agree with your well written opinion only to a certain extent. Yes slavery was a hundred years ago but dont forget that blacks were fighting for equal rights just fifty something years ago. The mental and pyscological anger and anguish that someones ancestors went through can continue on genetically. Just like you have racist whites who are taught that their are god and superior you have blacks still in the mindset of the slave mentality. It is a chain that has not been broken and the racism in this country has not disappeared race relations we are still struggling. Blacks in this country who were born here still get treated as second class citizens even though my great grandmother fought for civil rights so her grandchildren can be considered equal. I still get treated unfairly in the corporate world I get three times the amount of work the old caucasion female does. In away I take it as the new plantation except i get paid and my overseers dont beat me but they still work my blackzz harder than others. Drink coffee and smile in my face as they think in their head im going to work this negro to death and call me every racial slur known to man. While their peers get to walk around and chat and i hustle my ass off. Ugly racism still exist and this election is bring out the undercovers in full force. So i dont find whoopies statement stupid she had a right to want to know will she go back to living in slave courters and hitting the cotton fields again as well as getting beaten and raped by massa. Remember pysocological wounds go deeper than and pysical ones my dear....Also to the idiots saying Whoopies a democrat do some research because she did an interview stating shes Republican but I guess cause her skins a certain color automatically you can make an ass out of yourself and assume she Democratic cause shes black yeaaa....Stupid ass clowns

67. Stephanie is a freaking retard. Moron.

68. Her question was legit morons. Even McClain understood her comment. Some of you are so judgemental and ignorant. Why don't you have a more open mind and stop living in your small limited judgemental worlds.

69. I think Whoopi is coming in close to being like Rosie O Donnell: HAVING FOOT IN MOUTH DISEASE!!! Elizabeth would NEVER be rude to Obama like that..... I won't be watching The View anymore... I am surprised Joy Behar wasn't rude....

70. YESTURDAY's - LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL - The Harvard educated man thinks you're a moron and asks that you not vote because you are too stupid.

71. Pinche gente tan pendeja. Whoopi made a good point. She was only asking for clarification and had the right to ask. If you are asking for the Supreme Court to only decide on what the consitution means then how is that justice and change. Like Whoopi pointed out, because of the changes made by the supreme court there is no longer slavery. So fro Mc Cain to say he wants people in the supreem court to only read the law and not change it is naive. Whoopi has the right as any other citizen to say what she feels just like you dumb pendejos have your right to be talking caca without having some actual knowledge to back it up. E Dicho!

72. You are in chains because people keep telling you need to be taken care of. Take care of yourself. It's empowering.

Posted at 5:21PM on Sep 12th 2008 by this blackchick is not in chains

73. "can continue on genetically"

If you believe that African Americans will never be equal.

74. These Hollywood types are embarrassing. Between their threats to move out of the country if so-and-so wins and the waty they parrot whatever the day's jingoism is, folks from around the world must think we're a bunch of retards. It's a good thing these idiots don't vote.

75. Whoppi is okay, remember, she is a comedian at heart. She was just trying to inject a little humor in the show. When you have a serious discussion topic such as Roe vs Wade, and the Constitution being debated and someone makes a joke, it's like getting thrown a curve ball. Don't take Whoppi's question out of the context in which it was inteneded for, a laugh. Mission accomplished Whoppi, I thought it was funny!!!
