MTV's Real World Deforestation Challenge

Contrary to the goals of the MTV's current Green Crusade, the most recent MTV "Real World/Road Rules" challenge -- which premiered last week -- seems to pit competing teams against each other in an effort to wreak the most havoc on Panamanian rainforests.

The devastation left behind once the shoot wrapped was described in a recent article from the Tree Climber's Coalition. They say MTV left the formerly pristine area riddled with trash, unstruck sets, and even discarded scripts for the so-called "reality" series.

Apparently when MTV execs see green, they're not looking at the environment.

Calls to MTV were not immediately returned.

61. I live on "the island". It is named Isla Colon. It is part of the Bocas Del Toro chain of islands. Hundreds of expats live here. In fact, friends of mine have homes within 100 yards of the set on either side.
The trash they left behind was only part of the problem. Besides the contestents, there were a couple dozen crew members. They rented SUVs in Panama city (yes the island has roads) and drove them like bats otta hell, destroying the fragile dirt roads the residents need to get to town.
They were arrogant bastards as well. when they went to town to party, they made the bar owners shut out anyone other than them, so they could have the bar to themselves.
The opening scene that had them arriving by boat was crap. They were flown into the island's busy airport, and transported to the set by car.
Also, I know the person that catered the crew AND the contestants. EVERYONE ate quite well, the "starving on a deserted island" thing is pure crap.
As for who they will vote for...well they sure acted like a bunch of Republicans
